Back on topic. Butler did get some nice recruits. They have a good coach, they could do well next year.
I expect UWM, Butler, UW-GB and Loyola to all be decent teams next year. Which team(s) emerges as the winner may well depend on things we can't forsee right now.
No matter how good or bad things look now, everything can change. Injuries, bad (or great attotides), a player being better (or worse) than expected, a change in strategy to take advantage of unexpected strengths (or weaknesses) can result in an entirely different picture than the one we see today.
Look at Traci Edwards on the women's team. Only a couple of schools were interested in her. Yet she was a beast on the court and the HL newcomer of the year. And look at Tyrone Young, highly touted but not nearly what we all expected.
It's the intangibles that make this all the more interesting!

F Skinner F Paulsen G Franklin G Hanson G Swiggett 6th man- Gentry
I think a guy like Walls could have changed the outlook for the team. I think they finish middle of the horizon without that type of big. Some positives are that Swiggett and Franklin are older than your typical freshmen. That seemed to help first year players like Hansbrough, Ty Thomas, Shawne Williams, etc; last year. And Franklin is a late bloomer, which is sometimes the best type of recruit, and maybe we stole one here. Gentry originally committed to Northern Iowa which seems to be one of the top mid major recruiting schools after Gonzaga right now, and he was talked about as a major level recruit earlier in his recruitment. Those are the hopes. The frontcourt looks very poor to me though, so the backcourt better be great right away.

I think we have to start Gentry. He's 6'4" or 6'5" with the ability to both score and rebound. He's gotta be in there over Hanson or Swiggett.

Let's not that Gentry didn't play Milwaukee City Conference in high school. He played a bunch of hay seeds.

Lets not forget that King lost to Madison Memorial, who got beaten by Oshkosh West (The city didn't win anything at state this year). I think Gentry will be just fine. Didn't Hinrich, Lafrentz, and Collison come from Iowa? They were pretty good players I would say.

I just can't recall more than a handful of solid basketball players to come out of Iowa. I'm not saying he's a joke, and I'm not saying his competition was bad in high school. I'm just saying I doubt he would have had those numbers had he been in our City Conference.
He will be fine, I think we can all agree on that. Of course, we all agreed TY would be fine.

Jimmy, I have to echo Pantherholic here. How do you know his competition was sup-par? What do you know about Iowa basketball? We know he played against Jason Bohannan, a four-star recruit who's going to Madison this fall. USC, Northern Iowa, Creighton, and Iowa St. thought he did enough to warrant interest or offers. Who the hell knows how he would have done in the City Conference, and what difference does it make anyway?

I'm trying to think who from the City conference has made a huge impact in college basketball. Flenorl (Nope), JR Morris (Nope) Robert Jackson (Nope), Kamar Davis (Nope) Dupree Fletcher (Nope) Carl Landry (Not really) Marshall Williams (Nope) Jose Winston (Nope)
Iowa has Hinrich, Lafrentz, and Collison. Advantage Iowa.

I think that we will see Gentry in over Hanson. His additional size and ability to reboud (hopefully) will be needed next year. I personally think Swiggett is the guy that is going to really surprise people, not so much becuase he will be the best player on the team, but because I think he will do so much more than what people expect from him which seems to be not much at this time.
I really wish we could have landed another big, because at this point we have no size to turn to on the bench and will be going very small when we do.

I'm not bashing him, I'm just saying he was expected to play like a madman right off the bat, and he didn't. He's still got a bunch of time, don't worry cat.
