Hanson, Franklin, and Bendall have to be locks. We really need a 2 that is a consistent 3-pt threat. Franklin strikes me more as a slashing wing. If he's the best 2 we have then his slashing abilities might be limited. I don't know if Kaylan or someone else is a better stationary shot, but that seems ideal considering our lack of height. Maybe when Avo comes off the bench to play the 1, Hanson comes to the 2 and we're better off.
I like Womack's 5, but I like Messiah at the 4 and Paulsen backing up. He rebounded very well down the stretch when he got minutes.

the only way Bendall starts is if there are injuries. there's no way a walk-on is on the starting 5. if they thought he was going to start, why didn't they give him the schollie over Hansen?Franklin is also a PG. Skinner will probably start. you don't recruit JUCO players to come off the bench when starting positions are available at their position.

If Bendall starts, we're in a world of hurt.
I think we'll have to play very small next year.
Starting 5:
Hanson Franklin Anderson Paulsen Skinner
Smith, Swiggett, Gentry and probably Bendall in the rotation.

A lot of this is going to depend on how well everyone develops over the summer and how well they respond to Jeter's style and coaching.

Dont think you can say much when you finished second in the tourney and regular season and you lose sheets, horan, and poy winner polk...the players we have coming back are more athletic than anyone butler has coming back and all have proven at some point or another last season that they are capable of filling in...

No one in this conference has a clue how good we could possibly be this year. Looks like they will have to find out come December

We'll see about that Mr. Kroener. the reality of mid-major basketball will ring this year for you...
Loosing those guys will definitely hurt, but year after year different guys step up and find a way. I think the conference will be supprised by Butler this year, but feel free to overlook us as you did last year as well.
By the way, the best Butler teams have not always been the most athletic on the court. Athleticism is a bonus, not a necessity in our system.

Atherton's arguments are, for the most part, unfounded every time he posts. He basically makes assumptions every second he is on this board.
Such as, he claims, that no one thought Butler would be any good this year, even though they were picked to be very good, and finished that way. We, being the Panther Faithful, never overlooked Butler, and neither did the team. That's why we beat you twice, and the one time you did beat us, it was in overtime, at Hinkle, and your team played dirty in the final minutes. Don't even think that Joah, driving the lane with under a minute to go, didn't get fouled when he was knocked down. Even the Butler radio announcer, I've been told, was astounded that they got away with the foul that would have put UWM up for good.
So Butler Boy, be gone.

He basically makes assumptions every second he is on this board. what's also interesting about Atherton is that he participates on no other team's board, including Butler's, but ours. why don't u post on your own team's board? sad really. he usually offers no explanation to his reasoning (see Valpo thread and his earlier post this thread) but just comes to flame. at least Big D offers his 2 cents WITH reasons why he thinks that way, AB just spouts worthless crap.

You guys are funny. I think if you take a look at my responces (in this and the other thread that you mention) I did not come to attack, but when prodded, I DO provide my reasoning, or response to your own ignorant comments. As for not posting on other boards, I do. And by the way, Buter was not picked to finish high in the conference, I think you should go back and look at the pre-season predictions (individuals, or the conference pre season poll). I think it is you who needs to support yourself with the facts rather than just spewing garbage. butlersports.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/spec-rel/101205aaa.htmlDon't get mad just because I am right...

OK, probably way off topic here, but I haven't seen the name mentioned at all...did we lose Wimmer, or just not expecting a lot of minutes from him?

All right, who wants to take this one? Don't everybody rush in at once.

I do not expect Wimmer to be with the team next year. That's all I can say.
