Since I believe we now have all the guys lined up we will see suiting up for us next year I thought it could be a good time to see what everyone thinks our lineup will look like.
My thoughts: 1 - Franklin 2 - Swiggett 3 - Andersen 4 - Gentry 5 - Paulsen
First three in: 6 - Skinner 7 - Smith 8 - Massiah
I think Thornton and/or Harris will be redshirted because there is just to much ahead of them right now. I think if Thornton can prove to Jeter that his three point shot is to valuable to redshirt he could then push into the top 8 ahead of Massiah.
This is really just a crap shoot by me since I have never really seen any of these guys play and a lot can change in a kids game when they are only 18 or 19 years old over a 6 month time period.

now wait just a minute..
paulsen is not a center, he isn't naturally a "4" either, but unless we get one more big guy, that is where he'll play.
Rick Franklin Charlie Swiggett Kaylan Anderson Paige Paulsen Marcus Skinner
I can see Hanson starting over Swiggett at the beginning of the season but as Charlie develops he will be just too talented not to be starting. Anderson has not impressed me but lets hope he develops a better shot over the summer and if he does he will start. Gentry cannnot play the 4 spot in the horizon, he is only 6'4'' but does have a great vertical but a 6'4'' power forward just isn't logical. Franklin and Swiggett are the real deal, and with these two guys coming in, Avery Smith or Al Hanson will lose some minute at some point in the season, they just aren't the same caliber players as Ricky and Charlie.

If Gentry doesn't play the 4, are Paulsen and Skinner going to play 40 minutes? I may be alone, but I don't have a problem with Bendall. I did at the beginning of last season, but he understands his limitations and plays well in the offense. If only others could do as much. His defense against other bigs isn't what anyone should call bad either.

I agree, Bendall is solid on D inside. For the very limited minutes he had last year, he racked up quite a few rebounds and blocks. I would feel safe with him coming in off the bench early.
What about Thorton fitting in there?

If Thorton's three is as advertised, I can't see him riding the pine or red shirting next year. Without a big presence inside, we will need those three pointers to spread out the defense and open up the lanes to the basket.

What are people's thoughts about another addition this off season? I would think another JUCO addition is a strong possibility.

I disagree with this because I really think everyone is underestimating Al Hanson...He was a very very good high school player...He can shoot the three, better than Chris Hill could and with time, he could run the point better in my opinion...His biggest problem might be the depth at guard...

I agree that Al Hanson is a good player, a very good Horizon League point guard. I'm just not sure how Jeter is going to handle spreading out the playing time with all the guards that will be fighting for minutes in the rotation. We all know he has a unorthodoxed substitution pattern as it is, how will he handle being 8 deep in the backcourt and 2-3 deep in the frontcourt?. Bendall is going to have to play some serious minutues next year and the sad thing is that if we don't sign one more big man, Hoelzel is going to have to play some key minutes too, and that is not a good thing. It's really too bad we couldn't sign Calvin Walls, he would have helped this situation somewhat.

I am sure that Jeter has someone coming in for a visit before the end of the signing period. I would be shocked if we don't get one more big man

I am a huge Bendall fan..He is physical and tough and that is what we will need after losing AT, Joah, and Ford downlow
I have no doubt Al Hanson will start...This is exactly what people were saying when Ronnie Jones, Danny Weisse and Jose Winston left..No one had confidence in Chris and look what he became...I think Al Hanson is going to really turn himself into a leader next season
My projected starters
Al Hanson Ricky Franklin Kaylan Anderson Paige Paulson Michael Bendall
That will be a good start and we should actually probably go about 9 deep again

Avo is the 6th man off the bench...
Massiah and Young will also see real big minutes and really turn themselves into big scoring threats...
