Steve Malchow, ISU's associate AD, is also from UW ... their former SID.

Iowa State associate athletic director Steve Malchow said. "Our preference is to have this completed in short order. There's other people shopping for coaches out there." Thanks for shopping at UWM.

Damnit ... why couldn't Jeter just have said, "Let me get back to you, will ya, Jamie? I got a guy on the other line asking about some white walls."

JS story: www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=409643"If I'm an AD and I'm out there looking for people, Rob is a natural. There is just no getting around it. I don't know if the people in Wisconsin really appreciate what he brings to the table because he doesn't pound his chest. He just does his job and does it very well wherever he's been." - Bo Ryan, Wisconsin coach

Also from the story:
Haidet said the situation regarding Jeter and Iowa State was no longer in his hands - "Anything from here on out, you'll need to talk to Rob," he told a reporter - but is he is prepared to take action if Iowa State decides to make an offer to Jeter.
"Sure, we'll do whatever it is in our power to keep him here if it comes to that," Haidet said, "but it hasn't come to that."

Come on now. The JS called him and asked for a comment and he said something nice about his friend. That's all that was.

Bo Ryan reminds me of a used car salesman, especially with that greasy slicked back hair of his. What does this mean: "I don't know if the people in Wisconsin really appreciate what he brings to the table because he doesn't pound his chest." Does it mean Jeter went to Ryan for comfort after people b****ed at him for running a slow-tempo style of ball? Does it mean that Milwaukee isn't paying him enough dough?

No it means that people don't appreciate him as much as they appreciated BP

If Rob doesn't leave what happens to this board the next couple of days based on all these threads if he does leave why hate him for it??? It's the same as being a band snob, you like them cuz no one knows about them then when they get big you say they've sold out. I'm sorry but UWM isn't the school that coaches come and say this is it for me this is my dream job, it just isn't yet. But it can be and is headed in that direction these things will and do happen it sucks if it does but it will and it does. Perhaps the next coach is the guy who brings this program up to the next level do not fear change and don't hate someone for making their life better, we all have families or will have families, or significant others/whatever that may make us make decisions that weren't forcasted that's life. I didn't think I would ever live outside of the 414 but things happen and I will never trash someone for following their dreams or their heart and Rob Jeter is just a basketball coach and unfortuanately is replaceable and if he leaves I wish him the best of luck and I welcome the new coach with open arms. If he doesn't then I say to him enough w/the BS bring me another championship.

Excellent points AK. At this point, even though it looks like coach is gone, that's not 100% and even if he is, the experiences we had with Bo and BP should have taught us to wish him well and move on. Their are other coaches out there and the program will be fine as long as we don't go all chicken little.
