if jeter does accept tonight, w/out ever visiting their campus, no one can ever complain about how shady bruce pearl was w/ tennessee. this is above and beyond worse.

Jeter can have ISU and that heap of hurt that program is in with possible sancations and possible scholarship losses in the near future.
Message to Bud: Take that 900K plus the 300K+ Jeter would have been getting and go get a decent named coach that brings instant credibilty to the program and has national recruiting ties to we do not fall off the face of the earth. It can be done and this appears to be a cross roads for the program. Its make or break time, lets take a chance and make a run at turning the corner for good with this program.

I am rather numb to all of this right now....I dont want to believe this is true, but from all of the reports and speculation, I think I am wrong.....what do u Panther fans think abt any chance Jeter stays?? I really dont want this program to be a stepping stone for coaches

This move makes Pearl look like a saint compared to Jeter. Talk about taking the money and running. I love Milwaukee, my family loves it here....blah, blah, blah...I am so sick of hearing this crap from our coaches it makes me sick.

i wouldnt have believed it after jacksonville. i thought it was a courtesy interview but it sounds done. im pretty unhappy not really about jeter but the recruits and transition timing for the program. anytime this was mentioned in jacksonville it was pretty much laughed off, even by people who i would have expected to know what was going on now its all but certain. this is really disappointing

This reminds me of last year on the Monday after the loss to Illoinis (sp) where the day started off looking like Pearl was gone for sure, then as the day progressed it seemed the fans convinced themselves that maybe he would stay, than just like that it was a done deal.

The BP deal was done before we lost to Illinois, that's why in the pre-game pep rally he asked us to support the program next year and said "the program will need you next year," instead of "I will need next year."
This is different in another way too. When BP left it was a big set back in our recruiting but at least we had seven returning seniors. What do we have left this time to make up for the recruits we've been drooling over? Avo? Hansen? Young? Nick Hansen? Blendall?
Last time was a big nudge, this time it would be a hammer blow to UWM's BB program. The new coach will have to scramble to get what he can to fill holes and that will probably mean the best he can get under the circumstances and not what we need to get to stay on top.
At least BP left us in better shape than he found us in. That can NOT be said of Jeter IF he leaves now.

Sorry, was more talking about the rollercoaster ride the fans seemed to be on. Clearly less interest this time since Milwaukee barely got to know Rob and Bruce was...well Bruce.

This is the sad news about being a mid-major team. If you are good , you lose your coach. If you aren't good enough, nobody gives a damn. Panther fans are between a rock and a hard place.

I really dont want this program to be a stepping stone for coaches It's too late for that. And unless major changes take place, UWM will always be a stepping stone program. As for the lip-service about Jeter being proud to the Milwaukee coach and how his family loves it here, etc. What do you guys expect him to say?

i guess i can't blame pollard for trying to sign him tonight b/c if he showed Jeter around the exciting places to see in Ames, IA, he'd be on a flight home by noon. not that he wouldn't like what he'd see but the tour would be done by 10 or 11am. hopefully he can see a professional sporting event while in Iowa too.
