I hope that UWM comes out and plays like it did in its two games previous to the UIC game. I realize there's the Tigert injury but I guess that I'm saying that I hope they play really well. Missouri State is an excellent team and, despite currently sitting fifth in the MVC standings, are still in the running for an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Thus, tomorrow's game is very big for them and could be a great one provided both teams play to their potential.

I agree troggy...I hope that win or lose UWM plays (1) smart, (2) aggressive and (3) tough.
Missouri St. recently went on the road and upset then-ranked #25 Northern Iowa...so they can play.

If we make our free shows (75%+) and limit our turnovers (-12), we should win the ballgame. Even if Tigert was 90% I would sit him, we need him badly against Detroit. If Missouri St. has watched any tape on us, they will undoubtedly come out in a 3-2 zone. How will Jeter adjust?

Hopefully our team will be ready to play tomorrow. I think I will pop in the UWM-BC game to get fired up with.

I'm not confident that UWM will ever be able to make 75% or more of their free throws. Honestly, for having 7 seniors...it's unbelievable to me that they can have such terrible mental toughness. And I believe that is exactly the problem.
For the most part, everyone on the team has decent-enough shooting form(besides Avery Smith(knuckle-ball) and Jason McCoy.) So it's got to come down to mental toughness.
Secondly, turnovers are always key! And you're exactly right uwm97, Missouri St. will play zone if they're smart. And if UWM continues to not handle the zone effectively it'll be a rough way to end the season b/c you know Detroit and whoever else we play in the HL tourney will do the same.

Yep, the book is out on how to combat our halfcourt offense. We need somebody other than Boo to knock down some open threes. I think Hanson ought to get more playing as he's been our most consistent threat from outside (I can't believe I typed that last sentence).
Joah made an interesting point yesterday during the online chat. He said it's harder for him to drive to the hole in the swing offense since there's usually a player in the post that clogs things up. And he's right about that. It's impossible to penetrate a zone when somebody's down there posting up, we need to have more spacing, especially on the perimeter. Again, how will we adjust to the zone? Thoughts?

Thoughts? What chat was this? I'm clueless on that...would've loved to be on that. Anyway, I agree with Joah that teams playing a zone will, and have had a post player clogging up the middle, making it difficult for him. However, if he wanted to improve his overall game(instead of jacking up 3's) he could work on his dribble, drive, pull-up jumper from 12 ft. If he added that to his game, he'd be better off...I think. And I agree with the spacing thing! Also, making the extra pass and making it quickly will benefit them in time. Most asinine statement I heard from the tool-bags who sit behind me every game..."Stop passing and shoot the ball. God Jeter's really screwed up this team with his offense." It took everything in my power to not turn around and say something.

Perhaps you should have. I had to correct a dude behind me about the new kicked ball rule. Right after he screamed to the ref to reset the shot clock.

Perhaps you should have. I had to correct a dude behind me about the new kicked ball rule. Right after he screamed to the ref to reset the shot clock. Well you're right I should have, but I was somewhat upset at the way the game was going and he made this comment toward the end of OT and I might have started a fight. Man, these guys behind me are idiots though, and I have to listen to them every week talk about anything other than the actual game being played(for the most part). Here's a portion of one conversation: Idiot 1: "That number 4(Pancratz) is the reason I come to these games." Idiot 2: "Oh yeah?" Idiot 1: "Yeah. He's a slow white guy, not a good shooter, but he's gutsy." (I tend to agree with that." Idiot 2: "He's only a junior right?" Idiot 1: "Yeah, he'll be back next year." Pancratz has been around UWM for like 5 years now. I think he was red-shirted for a year. Regardless...not knowing Pancratz was a Senior and saying that "he's the reason I come to these games" almost made me fall out of my seat.

At least they are at the games. I guess, but they complain an awful lot about Jeter and how he's ruining a good team. Sometimes, I'd rather not have them there.

I'm in 324. We have those same type of idiots by my seats also. They kept saying Chris Hill was a terrible point guard. It was the UIC game and he did have his worst game of the season, but have they not watched any other game the entire season? We'd have a few more losses if it wasn't for him hitting some clutch shots down the stretch. But then I wasn't so sure, because he was getting Hill and Avery mixed up, so I didn't know exactily who he was b****ing about. He probably didn't even know. -Jeff

I sit in 307. Just about half-court, across from the UWM bench.
I honestly wonder sometimes if these guys are masochists b/c they complain so much about something they have season tickets for. They pay a few hundred dollars a season to be negative for 2+ hours, 2-3 times a week...it boggles my mind each and every game.
Recently, they were the same way during the Youngstown St. game. I mean WTF?
My wife and I just roll our eyes...unreal!

They're a pretty confident bunch over on the Missouri St. board. Somebody wrote that we'll be in trouble if we try to run with them. Huh? ?? Be careful for what you wish for, buddy.
