Shooting 58% from the foul line and committing 19 turnovers - at home - is completely unforgivable. The effort was there tonight, it was just one of those games where it was a grind from the opening tip on. And credit UIC. They stepped up and hit a bunch of clutch shots down the stretch.

The refs were awful. Someone in the AD told me they were basically the same crew that league reprimanded after we lost to WSU. We were getting hacked on every possesion and those charges that weren't called bordered on unbelievable. With decent refs we win that game but....
Our shot selection was terrible. Took way too many threes with plenty of time on the shot clock and
Jeter should never have gotten that T. In a close game like that coming out on the court and yelling at the refs was just asking for it. Take away that T and we still win by two and
Our interior defense was terrible. They shot 58% and all but 12 of their 94 points were from the paint. Without AT in there no one wanted to defend the basket and that gave them plenty of rebounds too.
We should have won going away despite the refs. Jeter was outcoached, the team was out hustled, outshot and out defensed.
It's an out and out shame. Goodbye tourney, good bye decent seed in the Big Dance even if we make it there, good bye conference championship.

Actually, only 33.3% of the same officials as the game at WSU.
UIC Game: Sid Rodeheffer, Lamont Simpson, Lamar Simpson
WSU Game: Lamont Simpson, Mike Sanzere and Phil Bova

So if both UWM and Butler win out in conference, they host the tournament? How does that work again?

It's an out and out shame. Goodbye tourney, good bye decent seed in the Big Dance even if we make it there, good bye conference championship. It doesn't take a math genius to figure out that we still have a great chance of winning the conference and hosting the tourney, especially with us having only 1 game left (AT HOME) and Butler having 3 games left (2 of 3 on the ROAD). We will likely still get a 12 seed if we make it--and that's NOT a bad seed as we experienced last year. There are far worse things that can happen than ONE home loss all year. If this game makes you want to give up, then you are pretty WEAK!

The sky is falling, the sky is falling. Yes this is a bad loss and it hurts. But I just get a kick out of how now Jeter is such a bad coach and the system sucks again. We score 98 last week and it was great now with our center who averages a double-double and 6th man are out and the system sucks.
If there is one thing to point the finger at it is the free-throw shooting. 58%, come on guys that will lose you games almost every time. Or maybe the 4 for 19 3 point shooting in the 2nd half and ot.

Seriously, this season has been disappointing. I don't know how there is even a chance that we might not host the tourney. It seems Jeter has problems, but the players themselves just need to step up and get their sh!t straight. For all the hype and returning starters, the season has been fairly miserable. These are the same people who said at 6:59 pm tonight that we are doing great and will get a 10 seed. People need to calm down...1 loss is not the end of the world!

incorrect.. Butler has Loyola and YSU at Home and then they close it out at Detroit

In short...we blew it big time.. How they didn't win in OT with Jeffers and Bowen out..I'll never know, but Uic was clutch when they needed to be. We simply were not.
Hard to win without your MVP.

...and Butler having 3 games left (2 of 3 on the ROAD). incorrect.. Butler has Loyola and YSU at Home and then they close it out at Detroit Your right, but YSU doesn't matter though--they could be playing the Hartford Elementry School All-Star Team and that would be more competitive than YSU! They already lost to Loyola however, and at Detroit is never an easy game as we saw earlier this year.

I hope that Jeter can recruit guys that shoot free throws well, because our current team is very, very inconsistent at the line.
I would have much rather been beat by Detroit than by UIC... DAMN!!!!

This loss hurts...I agree wholeheartedly on this.
Good or bad, those men are OUR team. All we can do is keep on supporting them. I am sure they feel much worse than we do. It's not over...
Let Butler gloat (they are having a field day over on their boards regarding the game and Bill Johnson). Maybe they will gloat their asses into another loss.

How the hell can you be laughing, true fans would be furious with the fact that we might not host the tourney. Thats the dumbest thing I have EVER read on this board. Aww sad day for me? I was pissed and that's why I laugh. It's comical. How the heck did we lose in OT when their two top scorers at the time fouled out? Not hosting the tourney is a reality, deal with it. Go get a beer and relax. Have a good laugh about this loss because you might pop a blood vessel! Here's to hoping we somehow keep the tourney here and if not, let's win it.

I dont want to see Wimmer in a close game ever again...WSU, Butler, GB, and UIC
He played in all of these games and we have lost, he's a good shooter but its like a jinx, anyone else feel this way
