Correction. UWM goes to Ohio on THREE separate occasions this season.
Sorry, the "only one trip to the Dairyland excuse" doesn't hold any water. Not in this Horizon League anymore.

Big DWSU, you have to be kidding, right? By your argument, we (and UWGB, for that matter) should be playing at YSU and at Cleveland State as part of one road trip, right? This is just as far as Wright State's Wisconsin trip is.
Here's our trips to Eastern Ohio the last 4 years:
Milwaukee 2002-03 - @csu 1/4, @ysu 2/15 2003-04 - @csu 1/22, @ysu 2/14 2004-05 - @ysu 1/12, @csu 2/26 2005-06- @ysu 1/26, @csu 2/11
I am not saying this is a conspiracy, because it's not. What it is is poor scheduling by a conference that continues to show why no one takes its leadership seriously.

In addition, no team should have a SIX-game homestand like Loyola is having. I'm sure Loyola doesn't like having all of its home games bunched up either.
Here's what the schedule groups used to be: Butler-Wright State Detroit-Cleveland State Loyola-UIC UWM-UWGB
That obviously got mixed up once YSU was added. The only "pure continuity" UWM has had this season as far as trips go was this past weekend.

I think it has been established and we are well aware of why scheduling is so unbalanced now. However, your claim here ... If WSU's home/away games with UWM were switched, then WSU would have to make 2 seperate trips to Wisconsin to play UWM and UWGB. A large part of scheduling by the HL is supposed to cut down on travel costs and it doesn't make any sense for wSU to travel to Wisconsin twice. ... won't get any sympathy from these parts. UWM is scheduled to make three trips to Ohio, PLUS a separate trip to Detroit. Think those trips have cut into UWM's athletic budget a bit? To say that it would be completely unfair for Wright State to make two separate trips to Wisconsin is ridiculous.

Perhaps the travel partners idea is not working and something else needs to be done.

Perhaps the travel partners idea is not working and something else needs to be done. They only do that on a limited basis now, since Youngstown State was added.

The league screwed up when they brought in YSU by themselves. They should have either left them out or brought in another team with them, because adding just YSU has messed up more than just the league's RPI.
This is the first year in a while where WSU actually got to go to both Wisconsin schools on one trip and both Chicago schools on one trip. I know the previous two years we made two trips to Wisconsin and two trips to Chicago each. My guess is at least one team each year gets the short end of the stick, this year it looks to be UWM. You'd think since the league gave the Panthers 4 road games in a row, that they would at least put a couple of them together, so that 3 trips to Ohio aren't necessary.
