this seriously must be the most ridiculous reaction that i have ever seen in my entire life. this is about as much of a story or a-to-do as it is when UIC fans (sorry spike and Big D and Stomper, and the those die hards that regular this board and that we all know) b****ing about how we are class-less.
We (as Panther fans) all know the caliber of announcer that Bill Johnson is and we (as Panther fans) know who to turn to to give us the best and brightest commentary for Panther games.
I have heard some of the accounts that a few BU fans have made about what Bill said on the air and i am willing to bet whatever amount of money that i have to my name that the accusations of what Bill said during the game are untrue.
I highly doubt and am willing to stake all that i have in saying that Bill never and would never call anyone a thug or any other derogatorily name of any kind.
I believe that it is very unfair to say that just because this game is available on the internet that any home team announcer should watch what they say due to the fact that takes away from what we all as fans of our team at home have come to enjoy and look forward to.
We tune into to hear OUR GUYS talk about OUR TEAM (whatever team or school that may be) and hear what they have to say about the things that are happening to our team and to our guys.
Now if any poster on this board has ever listened to a prior game that Bill has done vs. any team for the HL then you know what I am talking about. There are team in our conference that seem to complain head & shoulders more than others within the conference just as there are teams that play more physical head & shoulders above the rest and if you out there really have that much of a problem with another school's guy sticking up for his school and his guys that he covers than you must be some of the most fair-whether fans that have ever come across the face of the planet.
Now i really don't care what anyone from BU or from any other school in our conference has to say about Bill or any other commentator from UWM for that matter since 7/8 of the stuff that has been made of this past game is complete and utter BS.
I urge the HL or any other BU fan or any other fan of any other HL team to find a way to listen to the game and you will find that the comments that are being made about the supposed things that were said are flat out lies.
if anything this shows to the rest of the league that maybe Bill isn't too far off calling BU whiners, i mean if there fans are going to complain about the fact that an opposing radio guy made a comment about how it was that ever time a foul was called on BU that the player turned to the ref and made the motion of "What, Me?. I didn't do anything." eve though everyone in the arena saw the fact that the player fully committed the foul.
As i have said to Bill before keep on doing the things that you are doing. You are the voice of the Panthers and I am going to be one happy Panther fan to say that you WILL be the voice of the Panthers. You did nothing wrong Bill and have nothing to concern your self with.
