Todd, I don't know what team you're a fan of or what your knowledge of the Butler fans and players is, but they have worked hard to earn their rep and that thread bore it out. Even if that were true, and your perspective may have a lot more to do with Butler-UWM being a sometimes heated rivalry for the fans than anything the individual players ever did, Bill Johnson isn't your buddy, sitting next to you and having a private conversation during the game. He's on the radio and now on the web, broadcasting to anyone around the world who wants to listen. No broadcaster should be inferring that an opposing player, especially one that graduated three years ago, is a thug, whiner or whatever. It'd be like someone else's play-by-play guy saying "That so-and-so is a choker because he missed a lay-up against Notre Dame three years ago". Todd

I thought all of the "this is just another example of UWM's lack of class" comments were excessive and uncalled for. That part I agree with. More fans talking during a heated rivalry but you're correct. Todd

Todd Dylan Page is a choker LOL, well as a fan, you're certianly entitled to that opinion. But it'd be different if a radio broadcaster said that over the airwaves during a game. Todd

p214.ezboard.com/fbuhoopsfrm1Bill just covered the topic on the D-List. He stated once again that he made a few tongue in check comments and went on to say that if you read the butler board it makes it seem that all he did was take shots at Butler which is not true. I did not hear Bill's comment on Mike Monserz, but what ever he said probably wasn't harsh enough. IMO he is and always will be numero uno on the HL's whiny little b**** list ;D.

You can't say that on the internet.......where everyone in the world with a computer can read it! Why are you slamming other teams players, what do you think this is, a place where you can express your opinion?

LOL, to the contrary, this is just the forum for saying things like that, especially if you're a fan, want to vent, etc. A radio broadcast isn't the place to vent or take personal shots. I'm not sure what's difficult to understand about that. Todd

Relax, Todd - I understand where you are coming from/know what you are saying........... If you have that big of an issue with it, why not contact Bill directly instead of b****ing about it on forums. I am sure he would be more than willing to discuss it with you.

Relax, Todd - I understand where you are coming from/know what you are saying........... Fair enough, there are certainly no hard feelings on this end. I'm b****ing about it here, simply because Bill Johnson, himself started this thread. It seemed like the place to respond and discuss. Todd

I wasn't very clear in my last post, I appologize.......I wrote "you," but I should have written "you (or anyone else from Butler)." I didn't really mean to direct it at you personally...... You did, in fact, seek out the source of your aggravation and direct your comments/displeasure in the right place - I recognize that. However, there are many on the BU board who will simply b**** and moan about it in their own little world. Maybe it is just me, but if something really got under my skin that badly, I think I would address it head on, or at least approach the issue in some way, shape, or form. I give you credit for voicing your disgust in the right place...... I don't know for a fact what the rest of the Bulldog fans are doing, but if it isn't a big enough issue to actually do something about/address directly, why spend so much time, energy, and effort complaining about it? I am not saying this (or any issue for that matter) can't/shouldn't be brought up on fan boards, as they are a great medium to blow off steam (i.e. "did you hear that?" "so and so pissed me off" "so and so sucks" etc.. However, it seems like this has snowballed into something larger than it really is. I am sure that if you listen to a broadcast of all the college basketball games throughout the course of the year, there is much worse spewed across the airwaves that this.

Perhaps some of the other fans are addressing it directly in other ways, I don't know. But, for the most part, I agree with you. Anyway, I want to thank the folks here for treating me with civility. I anticipated nothing less or I probably wouldn't have wasted my time posting in the first place.

Todd Thanks for stopping by, and taking the time to post!

"A radio broadcast isn't the place to vent or take personal shots. I'm not sure what's difficult to understand about that."
When hasn't AM radio been a place for this type of broadcast?
