Ahh that's crap. I thought it was a 4-1, and that we would host the badgers next year. I'm starting to wonder if the game is even worth it myself. The Kohl center is one of the toughest places in the country to play.

I could be wrong on the deal. 4-1 or 5-1, either way is bull sh*t.

Very happy with the effort tonight. They could have folded the tents when they were down 20. I hope the boys are pissed about the outcome and come out and just roll GB. I think as fans we can't be mad about this loss but i know know via jdbrew via mikey that Jeter was not satisfied with this outcome at all and that shows a lot!!!

Just upset about the refs....
Last Year @ GB bogus calls left and right and we lost by 3 Last Year vs. GB @ The Cell 20+ win...proves refs show fav. but the fact the Joah was taken out of his game (3 travel calls) taken out (3 personals and a tech=4 total in the first half) The refs put JT out of this game. Way to go for the step -up but the T on Jeter upsets me and some calls down the strech really come on now..
One last thing...what was with the whole Review and shots after we scored, I was at the bar and couldnt hear...

I used to think it was a great game for our program (at least for SOS) but after tonights game, I am bitter towards playing at the Kohl Center. I agree with freak, 3-1 or nothing. Perhaps Jeter can work out a better deal with his old buddies to the west.

First off, Badgers don't come here until 2007. Deal got bought out to a 5-1. Secondly, wow, what a game. I was at the Kohl Center and our boys looked tough. When UW went up by 20 points in the first half it looked like last year's loss all over again, but a variety of factors played in on that. I have to say that the officiating sucked ass for both sides. The refs would call little stuff during the begining of the half, then let them play at the end.
When we went on that scoring drive, UW just went cold. When we went up by 4 in the second half, there was a three minute scoring drought in which we needed to build the lead if we wanted to win this game. Unfortunatly, we went cold and that didn't help at all. No way did Joah diserve most of those fouls. All in all, good loss. I was very proud of the fight that those guys showed on the court. We should have one that game if Joah was not in foul trouble.
Bring on GB

pretty sure we play the badgers at home in 2007 so w/e that makes it-----------I think its a dumb deal, we can't gain anything from playing them. Even the RPI (ratings percentage index) boost if we make it close like we did tonight, isn't even worth it!!It's a lose lose situation the only thing it does is give The University of Madison recruits over us and when a Good Mid-Major like The University of Milwaukee plays games like this it keeps the state from seperating the two instead of them making one the little brother of the other.

I was at the game and am still in Madison.
Yes we were hosed by the refs. It was so bad that afterwards we went to a couple of bars and even some of the students were coming up and saying stuff like "You guys actually won," and "tough break if not for the refs" and (my favorite) "that was the worst officiating I ever saw in my life. We didn't deserve to win tonight"
That being said, we still had our chances. Make a couple of those open shots and we win. The guys were amazing, simply amazing.
Jeter did a GREAT job. We out played and outscored the Badgers for all but the first 12 minutes of the game.
And that happened despite:
Homer refs A large boisterous home crowd A 20 point deficiet Foul trouble on Tucker
Let's make sure we give these guys loud cheers on Saturday night!
PS While I wish we saw them on our court more often, overall this is still a plus for us. We don't want to get into a situation like we have with that other school in Milwaukee where we can't get them to play us.
We nearly won tonight, a couple more breaks and we would have. Think of what that would have done for our program. In fact think of what coming so close did for us.

(first off let me state that I hate the badgers) Prediction: The game will begin with a badgers run. They're coming out hot after last game's struggles. We will have next to no post game and Joah's shot selection will be especially atrocious tonight. Alando is going to score 15-20 before the reserves come in. So I was almost spot on up until this point. Was anyone else demanding that Alando Tucker's butt push be illegal? Why doesn't everyone do this move? Its unstoppable apparently. Also, who taught Joah that you're supposed to fade away on three pointers and attempt to hit the ceiling with your shot? we'll come away pissed at Jeter. But its not his fault. He's coaching Bo's offense against Bo. He's coaching at the Kohl Center against a superior team. This is a game that Jeter's image can only improve in my eyes. If he loses by 40 and its ugly, I expected it. If he wins or gives us a chance to, he's better than I thought. I certainly hope no one came away pissed at Jeter. I saw an entirely different coach out there tonight. Jeter was fired up. Jeter got a frickin' Technical. Jeter gave us a successful press. Jeter kept it close. He has won at least a few of The fan's jurors this evening. I can't say enough about how well we ran the offense at times tonight. There were glimpses of brilliance that made me think that a miracle occurred. Did anyone miss Morely? I swear that guy looked just like my Uncle Dan. I miss him dearly. He gets my vote of favorite Badger of all-time. Well behind Mike Kosolcharoen of course. Please tell me someone remembers him. Who are your votes? Avo's worst game to date by far. Positives are that he played 23 minutes again and had only 1 turnover. Can't say much about those knuckleballs. Has anyone read about how TJ Ford fixed his shot by taping his thumb back in practice? Avo's thumb seems to get in there at times causing that spin. Am I the only one that thinks Joah being out due to foul trouble helped the team? He hurt the team everytime he came in. 7 Turnovers? I realize the guy is good and he can score but he plays a better second fiddle and he has far too big of a chip on his shoulder right now. I guess we don't have the size to allow him to sit for too long.

The officiating in this game was blatantly biased and one sided.
It looked like a 1990's Bucks Bulls game.
The Massiah no call was an absolute joke and the T was worse. Instant momentum shift in a tie game on a 6 point REF INDUCED swing.
When Michael Hunt even has to say it was absurd, no more needs to be said.
"Then came the turning point, a technical foul against Jeter with 8:21 left in a tie game. He was incensed, and had a right to be, because Kevin Massiah was hacked while going for a dunk, and no call was made. (This from the same crew that put the wrong Badger on the foul line late in the game). Point was, the Badgers went on a 10-0 spree to put their patented stranglehold on the game."
The Big 10+1 crew should get the RPI boost and the credit for the win. They certainly earned it last night.
GREAT JOB JETER!
GREAT JOB GUYS!!!
This Panther fan could not be prouder of you all.

First, I want to say that last night's game was awesome. Compared to how we've done against Madison in the past and the fact that we were down by a good chunk in the first half, our guys did amazing. Just contemplate how great the team will be by March if they keep improving at this rate.
Secondly, I was half expecting to be greeted this morning by pages of upset fans complaining about us losing and "horrible officiating." Not so. Very heartening!

well, what can you say. i'm very proud of this panther team nearly pulling out the impossible DESPITE not having tucker, DESPITE horrendous officiating, and DESPITE having to dig out of a 20 point hole. this team proved something last night... they are for real! there are certainly no moral victories, however there was so much good to be taken away from last night that it almost makes you rethink the whole "moral victory" situation. we saw guys step up last night and be clutch... Boo is the Ed of last year. Joah will be motivated beyond belief (let's hope he channels is correctly), and Jeter is going to be ANOTHER very good coach at Milwaukee.
it's a quick turnaround but i sense a GB a$$-kicking coming up this saturday night. i can't wait. better see a BIG crowd!

Keep in mind folks, that the story in the papers will be about two things, a great performance by UWM and sh*tty refs. That's going to help our recruiting.

i found 2 pennies in my car so i thought i'd toss them into the post game discussion: - Refs sucked but didn't lose the game for us. how about Avery's unnecessary charge and crappy shot the next time down the court? how about jacking up 3s constantly afterwards? - Can't blame Jeter for the technical b/c i would've either thrown my shoe at the ref or pulled a Bobby Knight and thrown a chair on the court. but that's one of a thousand reasons why i'd suck as a coach. FYI - a similar situation happend AGAINST Bo Ryan in the GB game AT WISCONSIN where there was a blatant foul by Lawrence onto Butch and whatever Ryan said he was T'd up for almost instantaneously so it's not exactly the "red whistles" that screwed us last night. - outside of FTs, did Alando Tucker score ANY points further away than 5 feet away?!?!?! - i gotta give some props to McCoy. although Tigert's getting all the credits for his play vs. Butch and Chappell, McCoy played a role too and his swatting away the alley-oop attempt was definitely needed. - the Kohl Center is a very intimidating place to place* *especially when the crowd actually cheered. was there a funeral going on in the 1st half i wasn't aware of? the fact the student section actually had to chant "Stand up old people" is sad. if the place only gets rowdy when the game is close that is not that intimidating of a venue. - did anyone see myself and jdbrew hold up his banner in the luxury box? we were above the "W" centercourt. what a view and great food . also irritating ppl in a box is more fun that i thought. ;D - i'm sure the players are upset about the outcome so i'm confident they'll wipe poor man's coach k's hair gel all over the court AND still have enough left over for every other home game this season... for both teams
