Alright boys and gals, sure we may not matchup well inside but if our outside shooting kicks in, it looks like mighty Kansas is in a bit of a rut themselves (They were down most of the game yesterday along with being down 1 with a minute to go)
Although there are many of us who have little faith and believe the chance of winning is extremely slim, here is one fan with the faith that we can give them a game.
Reason 1: Ed has to wake up someday. Why not let it be this week.
Reason 2: Kansas can be beat. I think from some encouraging mid-majors holding their own until the final minute against the likes of GT and KU we should get a little bit of hope right there. Our team can play just as well and I think we all know that.
Reason 3: Intangibles-They're coming off a near loss and we're beaten down. Time to snap and protect the women and children.
Reason 4: Bruce has a week to scheme against these guys. Time to show why you deserved that extension Bruce.
For those of you going to Kemper, get loud and make us proud.

The Zags beat GT last night. I definetly believe we can do this. Ed - I think its time that Bruce Pearl Start him. So he can finally show his stuff. Boo - Will be intimidated to the point where he doesnt make mental errors. and will not force the ball down into the paint just for a missed shot. Ford/McCoy - Good luck, youre going to need it. Hopefully the Madison game will give you an insigt to adjust to how major college basketball is played.

i really believe that we can win this one too! i think that we are going to have to win it with extremely good shooting. which means that ed will defenitly have to end his senior slump, and what better way to end it than against kansas. adrien and j tuck continue to play unbeleviable. and i really like what i saw from hanson against Wi. to truely win this game we need to get on the boards, shoot a high fg % and utilize our bench production. and for anyone who is going to this game please i beg of u antime there is a silent moment in the arena. get as loud as you possibly can, our guys will need your support! they defenitly are going to need as much support as possible! While I'm usually optimistic, I don't see really any chance of winning this game. We've struggled over the last couple weeks and will now play against the best team ANY UWM team has EVER faced. Kansas will be too big, and their guards are tall and athletic enough to contain Ed. My prediction...
Kansas 95 UWM 71

"their guards are tall and athletic enough to contain Ed"
HAHAHA!! CONTAIN Ed? Jeez, he hasn't been worthy of containment all year, lets hope they underestimate him, and he goes off for 20 or so. At this point, UWM should be trying to put together a respectable performance against a top team, which will hopefully give them some confidence for the confrence season. Best of luck to them, Hope Ed can bust his slump!

The keys to this game are the same as any game against a team with superior size and talent. In my opinion:
#1-Shoot well. We need to make our open looks. Especially 3's.
#2-Defensive rebounding. We can't let them get multiple looks. We got crushed on the boards in Madison, far more than the final stat line indicated.
If we do these things, we can keep it close and hopefully steal it at the end. But... I wonder if we will.
Kansas - 82 UWM - 75
I hate the term "moral victory", but it sure would be nice to at least hang around in this one.

Have you never watched Rudy, the bad news Bears, or any other movie displaying people or teams over coming great odds. It can be done, yes we've not been playing up to our ability but I think that we can go into Kansas and put up a fight. 95-71 makes our team and fans sound like this is impossible and that we could care less about our squad. I'm not trying to be overly optimistic, I just have faith that our team is better than 95-71. We can win this game it is not impossible, and when we do you are welcome to jump on the bandwagon. You are intitled to your own opinion and by no means was this a personal stab at you, I just can't see why everyone is packing it up and giving up on the season so early.

It's his opinion ... he's entitled to it. That's the beauty of a discussion board. It has nothing to do with being on the "bandwagon" or throwing in the towel. We wouldn't be here if we already weren't on the "bandwagon." UWM hasn't show me anything in the past few games to make me believe No. 2 Kansas shouldn't win this game by more than 20 points. I hope I'm wrong.

UWM 66, Kansas 86. If Ed finds his shot and we can prove that we have the ability to start scoring again, I will consider it a great victory for our team. If this can happen between Kansas and Manhattan, we should be ready to go in conference play...

Call me pessimistic or call me a realist, but UWM won't win this game. Offense is in the tank, good teams have learned how to shut Ed down.
Kansas 78 UWM 49.
Not off the bandwagon either....I think our weaknesses have been exposed. Well coached teams that have talent will take advantage of that...

Unfortunately our history builds a strong case for us walking away with a loss. Had the Wisc. game been a little closer I would think otherwise.
The unfortunate life of a mid-major team!

sorry to say it, but no way we win this game. i had some foolish optimism going into the Wisconsin game only to see this team completey exposed by the Badger's C-game. it's very doubtful that we're going to come out of a slump against the number 2 ranked team in the country in their backyard. i'm totally on our bandwagon, but have to be realistic about this one. my hope is we just relax and play some decent basketball. they played tight ball against WI and it showed. with nothing to lose in this one, maybe they'll ease up and just play. i'm not sure if you can find a shooting rhymthm against a team like Kansas, but it would be nice to see Ed and company find their touch before going into Manhattan. i'd consider a win there and a 3-3 record off this grueling road-trip a success.
best of luck to the panthers wednesday. are people getting together anywhere to watch the game?

Agreed, PANTHERfan
If they get frustrated and lose their heads, not only do we lose, but we leave #2's home emptyhanded. We need to stay focused and stay cool. Treat every posession like it's a new start and take the time to do things right. If we can do that we will get a lot out of the game, not to mention the score will be much better. Is it possible to beat a #2? Everybody here knows that it's possible, but that's not the point. The only thing that will help us in either a win or a loss is playing good basketball, so let's focus on that.
