Ok after being unbelievably upset that the game is not broadcast state-wide (aka Adams or even Madison) I found this as a description:
"Yellow Book Shootout: Kansas vs. Wisconsin-Milwaukee", Episode #8pmET. From Kansas City, Mo.
Anyone know why its the yellowbook shootout? Quite strange.

Ok, I really don't mean to start any beef here, but...
Everyone in this country, with the exception of prarie view has shut down ed this year. People keep painting these golden pictures of Ed and his phenominal scoring, I haven't seen a thing yet. And until he proves any of us wrong, he needs to at least score more than 10 points against Valpo. He isn't even in the catergory of a threat to any team we play right now, they all know he is in a slump, and will not even worry about him. OTHER TEAMS DO SCOUT UWM. Joah, Adrian, those are some worries, until we see this even 20 point game on 35% shooting, lets not make him out to be this shooting star. Sorry for my rant, but lets be realistic. thank you.

Ed is in a slump, no ifs........ands......or buts.......about it. But let me ask you a questions, Just because Barry Bonds (insert whomever you like here) is in a batting slump, does that mean that your pitcher can "relax" and just pitch him some medium heat down the middle.......because he is in a slump and he isn't going to hit it anyways?" Hell no......they are gonna try just as hard as ever to strike him out so that he remains in his slump. Sure, teams scount UWM, but they also watch tape from previous years ........as well as talk to other coaches. It is not a secret that Ed is a great shooter......and that means that if he gets it going he can fill it up quickly - and you can bet that no one wants this to happen to them. You can say whatever you want, but you can rest assured that Self is telling his players not to let Ed even touch the ball (slump or no slump). I am just as frustrated with Ed's shooting so far this year as everyone else, but he hit over 100 3's last year (thats A LOT!) and scored more than 17 a game......the guy can shoot, make no mistake. In other words, I think he has in fact proved that to us. He isn't even in the catergory of a threat to any team we play right now, they all know he is in a slump, and will not even worry about him. I will assume that you are joking. On a side note, Ed is the kind of player that can take over a game and win it by himself (not against a team like KU, but it could happen in a HL game)........Adrian is not that type of player. I love Adrian, I really do, but he is not a guy that is going to beat you single handedly.......he averages under 10 a game and his career high is only 18 with a high last year of 14. I love what AT brings to the table, but he is not the focal point of the scouting report as far as who needs to be shut down. Just being realistic here......

WOW, this is exactly what we've been talking about. Have you never watched Rudy, the bad news Bears, or any other movie displaying people or teams over coming great odds. It can be done, yes we've not been playing up to our ability but I think that we can go into Kansas and put up a fight. 95-71 makes our team and fans sound like this is impossible and that we could care less about our squad. I'm not trying to be overly optimistic, I just have faith that our team is better than 95-71. We can win this game it is not impossible, and when we do you are welcome to jump on the bandwagon. You are intitled to your own opinion and by no means was this a personal stab at you, I just can't see why everyone is packing it up and giving up on the season so early. Pnthr97, If I am not misinterpreting, you got called a banwagon jumper!!!! ;D HAHAHA j/k UWM6thman.......I don't think we are "giving up on the season"............. just stating that we don't think this game is one that would typically be considered winable..... The talent level and athleticism of a team like KU is so much removed from anything else that UWM sees all year, it isn't even funny. Trust me Do I think it is possible for UWM to win.........sure, if they play a flawless game and KU is off - anything is possible. Do I think it is probable.......smart money is not on UWM this time.

Well..here we go! I just dont know what to think, was Wisconsin on Saturday an embarassment? No doubt about it. Lets just hope that game served as a wake up call, and a turn around game. All i remember from when I used to play, and eventually coached basketball is that every game is different. You have to learn from your mistakes and forget about the loss. Im gonna be optimistic, like I usually am. I think this game will show the nation that we still are a team to be worried about. It will be determined within the first couple minutes. If we can hit our shots and keep a fast pace, we will do fine. Start like we did again Madison, and we will fail. Either way, can't wait for the game.
GO PANTHERS!!!

yea i agree, this game is going to be decided, maybe not win or loss wise, but at least how well were going to do will be decided in the first few minutes, if kansas makes a big early lead, look out this is going to get ugly, but if we can stay with them for awhile we could finish respectable.
and why hasnt ed been driving to the hoop, he knows hes in a slump why not try and drive and score that way, get a dunk in or something, just something to spark him, he seems like hes just hanging at the 3pt line doing nothing, just my 2 cents though

you guys will have to double team simien, but not leave giddens or langford open behind the arch, not the easiest thing to accomplish, but its doable. i also believe this game will be decided within the first couple minutes, if you guys come out strong you will remain on our heels or winning the remainder of the game, seems to be a tradition. gl

That's ok. A whole lot of teams will lose to Kansas this year. What I want to see in this game is just for our guys to hold their heads up, play smart and play hard. If the game's still in doubt with ten minutes to go I'll be pretty pleased.
I'm not being defeatist, it's just that we are outmanned here. If Ed can start finding his stroke again and we just hold our heads up it will be progress. There's not another game on the schedule that will be remotely as tough as this game or Wisconsin.
Our guys should just play loose and have fun. We have nothing to lose.

He is one of the few who has been around through some of the rougher times for UWM basketball.
