This game makes sense at the K I guess since it's going to be Detroit. However, had we hosted a QF game, I'd be disappointed if being played on campus instead of downtown. Were you upset last year when we hosted Wright State there? The atmosphere is unbeatable when you put 3k people there. I’m not saying for UDM we’ll have that but for a QF game I’d rather have a wild atmosphere than a mild one at the arena. That just shows youve never seen a panther game at the arena with a good crowd, I for one was upset the tournament game was played at the KCenter over the arena. Its only because the program is cheap no other reason. The KCenter doesn't get any louder then the same amount of fans in the arena. The MECCA is a top tier place to watch basketball. There is better high school gyms then the KCenter in the area.

Also, if it wasnt for Jimmy leading the student section last year against WSU, I doubt the student crowd would have been organized or as loud as they were. I think my effect on that crowd was exaggerated, but if it wasn't I should probably, you know, be there tomorrow.

There is better high school gyms then the KCenter in the area. The Klotsche Center was, quite literally, built 50 years ago for intramural athletics, not intercollegiate athletics.

I have a number of friends who think that the entire tournament should be in Vegas. If it has to be at a neutral site, that would be so much better for fans than Indiana Farmers Coliseum. If it must be a neutral site in the Midwest, there are a lot of better options than Indiana Farmers Coliseum. It makes sense to keep the tournament in the region that the fans are in instead of trying to do a Vegas thing, but the HL has managed to pick one of the most outdated, weirdly placed venue options out there.

Im aware, I think I have been one of the most vocal voices about knowing that the MECCA is the place for us to grow as a program. Pretty easy to sell that don't you want to play where Stone Cold Steve Austin cut his famous Austin 3:16 promo?

Milwaukee Women just won at Green Bay 65-61. Not sure if that locks in the 5 seed. If so, men's gametime is at 7pm.

I want the streetcar "M" Line to continue to campus so I can hop off at the corner of Hartford and Maryland and walk into a gorgeous brand new 3500 seat arena. I'm still up for committing fraud so one of us can "win" the lottery. Someone call David Stern and figure out how they got the ping pong balls to come up roses! I think that 4,500-5,000 is the sweet spot. In my opinion, you take our top historical attendance era (2003-06) and build it right in that range, allowing some room for the fan base to grow back while still making games a relatively tough ticket. The Horizon league (and just about every other league requires a minimum of 5,000 seats.

"You can talk about your psalms, you can talk about John 3:16, well Lundy 3:16 says I just whipped your ass" As someone who actually spent tons of time in in Madison lobbying for the building of a sports facility on campus (the name was also my idea but who's bragging) I can say with a certainty that is not true. While the primary purpose was Intermural leagues, Intercollegiate sports were also considered. We didn't draw enough to justify renting the Arena and the teams needed a place to play. Keep in mind that old Baker Fieldhouse sat maybe 1000 (with everyone standing shoulder to shoulder around the ends of the court). The Klotsche Center was a significant improvement over a building that had a dirt track around the court, (a court that was warped from getting rained on) and that had the distinction of being the only indoor College Basketball venue in the country to have a game rained out.

Frankly, if we need a big group of students to beat Detroit, we've got much bigger problems than not being able to draw students. We've gotten this far without them, so why do we need them now? We just played a game at the Klotsche against IUPUI where the AD had ample opportunity to reach the student base and only 40 or so showed up AND stayed for the game.
