This program, which still plays in the Sanford Salvage Yard, continues to amaze. Yep. Here's Hank Aaron Field hosting a Pony League exhibition game in the 1970s.

When's the next set of home games? I wouldn't mind making an appearance at the prestigious and awe inspiring Hank.

Simply amazing how this program continues to perform despite such challenging conditions. Get these guys a proper facility already!

Twenty-five wins? I didn't think they would even get 25 games in.
Five more wins and this will be just the eighth 30-win team in our D-1 history.
It's really remarkable how this program continues to compete without excuses.

It was great to see Scotty up there presenting the jersey....."We will give you this jersey and the name Selig field if you help us out alittle here.".....really got me to start thinking that he could be one of the big donors the university needs to get a new ball park.....13-0 at home is incredible for playing at the Hank....imagine what they could do with a legitimate facility....

Hope someone is asking him. In fact, as posted on previous threads MLB actually has a program available where they will assist in funding (UIC for example), a facility for baseball if the university will share with inner city youth. What a great opportunity for both. A legacy for Bud naming field after him or a worthy facility with Hank Aaron's name on it. Bud has collected something like $200 million in salary as commissioner yet has not ponied up dollar one for baseball facilities in this the home of the commissioners office. Then again, UWM pushed for this awhile back and once again let it drop. Maybe he is waiting for US to put together something tangible and finally get our act together. Anyway, what a great thing this could be. Wonder even i Park East ?? A complex that serves inner city youth and is safe and supervised and also provides a respectable home for Wisconsin's lone D 1 baseball field. Why is this not happening or why has this not happened? So obvious and happening 90 miles south with MLB (Selig's) help in Chicago not here? Then again, where is our Master Plan for athletics? Has been long discussed and still not anywhere in evidence that it even exists or is being worked on so why should Selig commit to something until we actually have a decent formal seriouc proposal that actually has accountability and a timeline? sigh....

The RBI program was coming our way until the university dropped the ball following George Koonce's departure. Funny thing, for all the terrible stuff the guy was going to put the basketball program through, the guy (with big help from freshmilwaukee) would have secured our baseball stadium by the end of that summer with Selig's help. UIC would then likely have not gotten the deal they just did. Instead, we screwed around, didn't get it built and the RBI project went to UIC, our baseball archrival. You can't write this sh*t.

Jimmy
So what you are saying is this was a program available from MLB on a one time basis that various cities had to compete for? A one and done? While a worthy endeavor and it is great and all that , boy MLB with all the money it takes in and even more now with the tv revenue hopefully isn't restricting this program to one city? Steve
