Also, keep doing the left right left chant whenever someone fouls out. Along this point (if someone from the band is lurking) ... have the drummer "keep the beat" of this chant ... LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT.

i'm a big fan of the "you can't stop him" chant and i think we definitely should keep that up, along w/ "you can't do that". i'm ok w/ re-emphasizing the "fundamentals" chant but i know others have been wary on it since they feel it's a bruce pearl chant (no one i know on the board). I was pushing for the "can't stop him" last game in reference to AT. I didn't think of "fundamentals" being a BP thing since I chanted it back in HS and was upset they weren't chanting it here when I was a freshman. I was only worried it was too HS. This may be a concern we should put on the backburner however as HS-used chants should be ones that people know and they provide an opportunity for our newer crowd members to chime in. i think instead of only chanting "boooooo" anytime he scores we let the old folks in 206 ( ) chant that while we chant "boo's your daddy *clap clap clap clap calp*". also emphasize "we want chicken" if we can ever dunk another basket. Couldn't agree with you more. Its just most of Boo's points come on spectacular plays that cause the crowd to be so loud that an audible cheer may be too tough to work. I was trying the "chicken" chant when Joah or someone layed up an easily dunkable ball. By the way, why doesn't the announcer point this out before every game? Wouldn't the purpose of the ploy be to advertise the reward? I would think the players wiould strive for it more. I remember this being announced more frequently last year which is strange because i've been more sober this year. i don't think there's a clash between sides of the student section b/c we don't know each other but moreso we seem to have different ideas and just need to sit down and discuss to some agreement. I strongly encourage we do this b4 the Bracket Buster game. I'd love to meet some new kids as long as they aren't d-bags. I had some of them over at my place before the hawaii game I believe. Unfortunately my house is not located as close to the buses as PaintedOne's was and my roomates have gone to a combined 0 UWM basketball games (Badger/Jayhawk/Trojan/Az Wildcat fans). There have been a few "old guy" gatherings before some of these weekend matchups. i can't speak for the guys holding them each week but if you're interested send me a message or an im. I'll ask for ya. We could get that out of the way before the BB game. Thats what UWM bball is all about anyways.

Here's my one and only "cheer" suggestion (and it's old school): Back in the 80's whenever Steve Kerr would score for Arizona the announcer would say "Steve Kerr" and the WHOLE arena would repeat "Steve Kerr!" It was sweet!
So...Boo Davis scores and our announcer (uwmfan?) says "Boo Davis" and the crowd repeats "Boo Davis!"
It's got potential.

Chant for introductions of opposing players: "Welcome to the Cell" During introductions of UWM players have the lights down spotlight on with the instramental verision of Public Enemies classice song "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos" playing.....I'm old school the young kids would have no clue but I know others who would love it. Have four cell "gaurds" placed in each corner of the student section this could help arrange cheers and would look cool if they all had correction officer uniforms on. I know this is far fetched but a cool thing I've seen at other sporting events is a large banner or flags it looks cool when the whole crowd is in to it this image is a bit much but you get the picture think of a large UWM banner over the student section that would be swell. IMO. Seems a bit much but a little hooki-ness can go a long way

Also, keep doing the left right left chant whenever someone fouls out. Along this point (if someone from the band is lurking) ... have the drummer "keep the beat" of this chant ... LEFT RIGHT LEFT RIGHT. we try to but its real hard to see sometimes from that hole we're in. especially when the player nears the bench. the front rows can see it but the drummer is in the worst spot with cymbals in his face.

How about "Yes YOU" everytime an opposing player acts surprised to get called for a foul.

We could have someone dress up as Chuck Norris for a game, and have him do roundhouse kicks to people dressed up as opposing players.
^worst idea ever.
Besides that, we all have our ideas of what the student section needs, and what the student section deserves to be. Most of them are similar or exactly the same. The problem with this is that this is a forum, and the 50 or so of us who are regular posters cannot do it alone, not nearly enough. We need to rally the troops. Ride busses besides the one your friends are on, that way you can get up during the ride and issue battle instructions. I like the idea of taking a megaphone to the dorms at 9 AM on gameday and yelling at people, but do it ALL DAY. Live in the dorms? Drag your friends to the game. Live in the surrounding area? Dress Klotsche Krazy earlier in the day, parade around town like an idiot. Get the gameday atmosphere going.
What else can we do BEFORE the game starts to get everyone in on it?
Like I said before, and it's been brought up many times, we need to disperse the guys around the student section. Fan, 6thman, you guys have been here how many years now? You are the recognized leaders of the student section, we need you to lead, not just by example, but by forcing the prissy little girls and the fruity abercromboys to GET LOUD.

If the perceived problem is that the left side and the right side just don't mingle or aren't on the same page, I think the best solution is a barrel Feb. 9th prior to the YSU game so the regulars can finally get to know each other, get juiced, get chants squared away and have everyone go down to the cell as one group. Right and left side in unison, everyone drunk, and everyone there before tipoff. problem solved

That would work, but for the most part, the right side is largely unknown freshmen that no one knows. There are a few exceptions, but I've only gone to the right side the last two games...not including WSU(working)
