I agree with Panther Lou that if you've got the cash, season tickets are the way to go to solve your dilema, but Mrs. Victor E. has an idea for you - get the athletic department to offer a season ticket package behind the North basket at preffered pricing for students and recent grads. That would: A- spread more love for the Panthers down to our end of the gym where we're sometimes sadly outnumbered by the visiting team's superfans, B- give all of you seats of your very own at a reasonable price, and C- increase revenue from ticket sales
In other words, everybody wins!

I sit behind the opposing teams bench and we would love to have some more noise on this end of the gym- Esp to drown out the other teams fans

i agree w/ Bball30, UWM isn't big enough to have season tickets yet, if we can keep a coach and gain success ala Gonzaga then eventually we will. UW sells their tickets to students for $110/season.

to get back on the topic since this is called RENAME THE STUDENT SECTION, i'd be cool w/ the Cell Block but after seeing Sin City last nite we should call ourselves "The Yellow Bastards" like the villain in the film (minus the whole "rape, torture and kill little girls" aspect). As Yellow Bastards we just make remarks about the other teams and their fans and just act like bastards to them! that was the best part of watching my girls' Bball team in h.s.

Incidentally, Dr. Klotsche did not cast the deciding vote to drop the football program; he had stepped down by then. We were going to drop either football or basketball, and basketball was a much more successful program for us. I think those who did make the decision, made the right one!

Sunday's student section could have been named, "Twelve Angry Men" or perhaps "The Dirty Dozen"

We were going to drop either football or basketball, and basketball was a much more successful program for us. I think those who did make the decision, made the right one! Actually because of Title IX, the University didn't have enough money due to the need to expand women's sports. FB took in way more revenue than BB did. It had doubled it's revenue for 3 or four years in a row. It also drew more fans. But, FB was still losing money and it was decided that BB would be cheaper and it would be easier to build a successful BB team than it would to built a successful FB team because you needed fewer good players. There were seven tie votes on dropping FB but on the 8th vote someone changed sides. You are correct though Klotsche did not vote. He was not a member of the Athletic Board.

I'm on the athletic board currently and the topic has come up a few times as discussion points, but nothing serious, at least in the past two years that I've been on the board.

Might as well rename the student section to "nonexistent." The student support at this school is beyond pathetic.
