i feel exactly the same way, and for taht reason alone, worrying about getting the seat that i feel like i diserve, where i have been the last 2 seasons for basically every game.. get taken by a bandwagon fan taht wants his or her face on espn really gets to me... i could care less about the espn camera... i just want my good seats, if u get enough peopel to grab some season tix im right there with ya! i think season tix should be sold at teh cell in the student section, at least the first 10 rows!

This is exactly the reason i did not go to a televised game all season, (except in cleveland) not worth the fight to get a decent seat

im either using my id to get in and not going in the student section, or buying season tix. i have went beyond the student section now. dunzz may be a graduating senior but me, i am gonna be going into my 6th year (im only here for one semester next year...god im old...) and i have had a great time in the student section i just cant handle some of the stupid people...a guy even tried to fight me in the line about 45 min before we were let into the loyola game because the didnt believe me when i told him i was a senior. he was drunk as hell and i told him to stop banging on the doors.
i have to say that if i have the money...which i should...i will be getting season tix. i get to support the program with money rather than just yelling and get to sit at halftime (and not on other people's legs and sh*t) and i dont have to show up 2 hours before gametime.
Lou, look for your section to be crouded next year

If you are no longer a student, or no longer planning to sit in the student section,
BUY SEASON TICKETS!!!!
It is the best way that you can support this program.

One thing i would encourage next year is for students to get more creative with their wardrobe with the exception of fan. I remember a couple years ago everyone had their own gig like hoffman and his braids and devin shirtless and all painted up. I went with the football helmet painted on a few times. I think the section as a whole needs to get krazier and take it to the next level.

what do you mean? we had plenty of krazy dressers towards the end of the season. all those guys that wear dress shirts, have unnatural tans, and don't know that we have school colors. hilariously krazy!!

I agree with what a lot of you said before... It was frusturating to be in the student section and constantly having drunken bandwagon fans stumble down 3 flights of risers and land on top of me. This past season I was especially irked by the people trying to talk on their cell phones during "Jump Around."
I'm sick of drunken freshmen and their DaSani bottles full of vodka making "mixer runs" to the concession stand and elbowing me out of the way. And I'm sick of these same drunken kids trying to "save seats" for their friends, who come back half an hour later.
And I really don't like getting my ass grabbed by the same druken seat-savers.
And it's especially tough being a female at the games and fighting for a space where I can see the game when I come wearing Gold head to toe and the more scantily clad female "fans" wearing short skirts and stilletto heals and the pink UWM shirts are ushered past me by their drunken Abercrombie freshmen boyfriends. (Now I know this may be appealing to some of you male fans, but seriously, our school color is NOT pink!)
While I enjoyed watching us win at nearly every home game this year (and lose to Detroit), my times in the student section were not nearly as enjoyable as I hoped. It's kind of sad as a graduating senior that I couldn't speak more highly of my time in the Krazie section.
New kids: YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE DRUNK TO WATCH THE GAME! (Or: you don't have to be BELLIGERENT to watch the game...)
Anyway, next year, I'll probably find myself up in the not-so-cheap seats with the rest of the twentysomethings whose old bones just can't take it anymore... peace.

I think they should make the students pay for tickets I would rather pay and be standing around fellow students that cared enough about uwm that would pay for there seats. There were way too many drunk idiots the last couple years and it is driving me nuts. For the championship I had to tell a security guard to kick some people out cause they kept pushing us to try to get in the front row because we were too tall and they couldn't see. We got to figure out a way to deal with these drunken fair weather fans that only show up when we are on espn.

I think tickets might be the best option at UWM. Trying to push for seating and dealing with bandwagon fans was the main reason why I graduated to alumni seating.
Plus, if our students had assigned seats, they would be spread out and appear massive. At the HL Championship the students would have filled 1/3 of the arena. At other games at least that side would almost be filled. It would appear much better on TV.

Having students pay for tickets would never work. Many students go to the games initially because they are free. Even though at the big games there are bandwagon fans, UWM needs to have those people there. People don't want to pay to see YSU, WSU, Loyola and so forth. Student tickets will not work for some time, until UWM is a more consitent program. Don't forget the sucess here has only been over a few years
GO PANTHERS!

I never minded the idea of bandwagon fans until some drunk idiots tried beating me up at the HL Championship because i yelled at them for chanting "Michael, Michael" while we were shooting freethrows.
Bandwagon fans are fine, they just need to know their place. But the truth is, many wagoners will become die-hards, our post-season run will help that next year.

I'll stick to the student section, it's my last year and I figure what the hell I've been hear 4 years why not make it a half century! Also I think Harker was talking about assigned seating for the first couple rows or basing seating on how many games you go to. feel free to chime in and correct me Harker

I New kids: YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE DRUNK TO WATCH THE GAME! (Or: you don't have to be BELLIGERENT to watch the game...) LIES AND SLANDER! I think everyone on this board had a great drunken experience at a Panther game. then "wised up" or got too nervous to get drunk before a game cuz they werent sure if the panthers were going to win. Students if you can hear me, its your right to get drunk and horny at college and do not let anyone discourage you from that. BUT, while you are drunk, be responsilbe and use good judgement that is acceptable to everyone. there. Drink harder, Drink more, but drink responsible. this message was brought to you by the dunzz intrepide corp.

BUT, while you are drunk, be responsilbe and use good judgement that is acceptable to everyone. there. Drink harder, Drink more, but drink responsible. Thanks dunzz, this is more what I was getting at. I've been drunk at plenty of games myself and I've had a great time. But the line must be drawn between being drunk and having a good time and being drunk and letting the act of getting drunk consume you and take away from the game and from cheering for the Panthers. That's what I was talking about before with the people and their DaSani bottles with mixers who spend the entire game trying to keep their buzz. Thanks for making the distinction. I've just had some horrible experiences with these folks.

The thing I dont get about the bandwagoners is....why dont you come to the FREE games? I never did care about the front row, 4 rows back, to the right of the hoop, perfect placement for me and my friends. It was my first year for UWM Hoops, but loved it.
