I think Klotsche Krazies is a name reserved for anyone who has seen a good amount of games there. The Krazies are like the founding fathers. Not just anyone can bear that name. The rest can go buy the golden shower or what ever. why would you want separation in the student section? im a freshman and ive been to tons of games including clevland and chicago (as have many other freshman) but we should go by a different name b/c were not elite enough? sorry but thats really dumb.

i didnt mean it to segregate people or to sound elite but how can you call yourself a klotsche krazie if youve never seen a game there? Again im not trying to put myself above anyone i welcome anyone who wants to root for the panthers but how can you associate yourself with a building youve never seen a game in.

If UWM ever had a living icon, it was Professor J. Martin Klotsche, our first Chancellor. In the oldest days of the fewest fans, Dr Klotsche was rolled out in his wheel chair to honor and accolades on Alumni Night. I for one would support greater rememberance than the tiny "garden" with it's rock, just outside the Klotsche Center doors. Klotsche is the author of The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee - An Urban University, and The Urban University and the Future of Our Cities. He described UWM in 1956, "A cooperative adventure that can write educational history for years to come". Educated in Nebraska, Klotsche was selected in 1946 as president of UWM's predecessor school, Milwaukee State Teachers College. The name Klotsche Krazies truly honors the man and not the building. I am certain that History Department, which held Professor Klotsche's Emertitus chair until his death, would respect any deferance to one of it's own. We are not Harvard and there's little ivy on our bricks and concrete, but the Men and Women who built the University from bits and pieces are local giants in their own right. We can be Klotsche Krazies anywhere.

It should just remain as Krazies. Sure it's deemed the Klotsche Krazies, but it holds the tradition as mentioned. I doubt any other big school would rename their student section if they were to move. We were even mentioned has "UWM Crazies" in a news article from down in Cleveland. What would they call us otherwise? Cell Blockers? Jailbirds? Inmates?
We still have the KC for Midnight Madness and such and the same idea carries over to our widely successful soccer programs with the Engelman Krazies. There's just no history by baseing our name off a company's name.

correct me if i'm wrong John Jay but from my information, klotsche was the one whose deciding vote cancelled our football program. Without a football program this university can't muster up the cash to resign someone like Bruce. So its klotsche's fault! Lets go pee on his grave then change the name.

not to mention having football would make us more attractive to a better conference

You are students. You'll not be students forever (at least most of you won't......cough...Nick Hoffmann...cough...) Anyway, enjoy the time as a student.
YOU ARE ALL KLOTSCHE KRAZIES!
Sit in line for preferred seating (standing). Wear gold. Dress like a woman. Get drunk, yell, flirt with pretty girls, flirt with ugly girls, but above all ENJOY IT!
Pretty soon you will be an alum, and you will have to show your support with your pocket book, not just by showing up and having a good time!! Enjoy the ride, because you won't be a Klotsche Krazie for long.

Actually Lou, with my math skills, I'm sure I'll be able to stay in the student section for the better part of the next decade.

This next season will be my last as a Krazie, I've been to the Klotsche and there was nothing better then a game there. It was small and we could get that place really loud. This talk of deviding the student section is pointless, it's already been done. This past season there wasn't one house that everyone went to before the game. Everyone went to their own party and it showed in the student section when we did cheer. One half would be doing one thing the other half would be doing something else. Reguardless of what we call ourselves we need to first come together before we can do anything. I will be getting a house close to campus this year, so whoever wants to join us before everygame is welcome. If we arn't pre-gamin yet(which more then likely won't be the case) wake us up and we'll start. It was great back in the day when we all went to Devin's place and had a great time together. Upper Classman or not, we all started somewhere. Maybe not all of us got the pleasure of going to the Klotsche Center, but arn't we supposed to keep recruiting people to carry on what we started? Besides my plan this year is to go to a few womens games, just for the fun of being one of only ten or twenty people in the student section. So if anyone wants to "formally" become a Klotsche Krazie come on down! Next years agenda: 1)toss Bruce shirt in closet and support the new coach 2)Make a shirt that represents the student section and makes new comers feel like they are part of something. 3)have a blast as a super senior!

not many people really knew who our coach was this year, let alone the name of the student section. A name change wont matter. I agree with uwm6man. Our first problem is finding a way to unifye large crowds. which prolly wont occur next year till games are on tv or we have champ games.
but the student section is not that great place to be. for those who go to all the games. and im talking all the games wind up having to get to the cell 2 hours in advance just to get the same seat they got when UWM played south dakota st. over crowded and full of people who have been to only one game, i am considering buying season tickets behind panther lou this summer. im just sick of getting drunk 4 hours before the game to get to line 1 hour before people get let in only to get into the second row and next to some drunk asshole who couldnt name the start 5 to save his life.
now, ive been there before, a feshman at my first game, but that was back when clay tucker was a sr. This is my 4th year at this university and this fall i will be a sr graduating. i guess, im just looking for some advice on if i should get season tickets. i know i will miss the student section and all that jazz. i know freak uses his student id to get in and then he sits wherever. but i want something more perminant. i want to have a good game expierience durring the important games. someone give some insight.
