I think the ISU money situation is different than you may think, a 900K dollar contract buyout is nothing to a few private donors who have been convinced Jeter is the guy that takes their program to the next level. Could be. I can't say either way. But I do know (as I stated before) that IA State isn't known for having alumni pony up large donations. Not that it hasn't happened or that it won't. I know if I were to pony up that kind of cash for a new coach, I'd want a little more than a personal assurance by the AD because he knows the candidate. I'd want results. But I'm a numbers and stats kind of guy.

That's a good point, TBone. ISU will look at the cost of hiring Jeter in relation to the cost of hiring other candidates.

Lance Allen just said the meeting between Jeter and Pollard was in Madison today. CBS 58's early sportscast sure made it sound like they are close to a deal.
