TURN DOWN THE SOUND SYSTEM. It's so loud you can barely understand the announcements. I have to shout to my husband sitting next to me or he can't hear me. Nit to mention it's drowning out the student cheers. What fool is operating the volume?

The idea of playing at several different venues in the same season is ludicrous. Fans will get confused as to where the game is. I led the effort to get the K built back in the 70's. It was NEVER meant for D-1 Men's basketball. Not to mention the HL requirement of 5,000 seat venues. The K has at most 3,500. You led the effort to get the K built? Now we know who to blame.😉 You have no idea how hard it was. You think the deck is stacked against Milwaukee now, you should've seen it back then. We had less than 1 square foot of rec space per student vs other campuses with their 10 and more. We literally had the only Basketball game in NCAA history rained out. The roof at Baker Fieldhouse leaked creating big puddles. We wound up playing then 5th ranked Oral Roberts the next night at the Arena and nearly won before a large cheering crowd. Even that still didn't move enough votes on the State Building Commission but it did help us get one more. I went up to Madison lobbying so often that I should've gotten credit for it as part of the Political Science course. Once we got it, I was done. I had nothing to do with the design. I did however suggest the name. Ernie Spaights told me that's a no go because you can't name a building after someone who's still alive. My response was "Why wait til their dead and won't know it." To me it made sense. It was last piece in the campus that Klotsche built. Besides I promised him we'd do something to make sure he was remembered after that 75 year old man beat me and another 20 something year old at Blow Pong in the Kenwood Inn at the retirement party we threw for him. (Blow Pong involves blowing a ping pong ball off your opponent's side of a ping pong table. If you succeed they have to take a drink. We got a table moved up from the Rec Center for the game. The Chancellor was undefeated in five matches that night. His partner basically stood there and let him do all the work.) I was gone from school when it opened but I did get an invite to the grand opening. Spaights wrote in it, something like "We took your suggestion so I hope you can come." That was special for me.

If the game sells out and lots of fans are left without tickets, will people still think this was a good idea? Will the images of a second rate D-2 venue on ESPNU help us to recruit the players we're targeting?

I know it was. They were all raving about how loud we got it on Thursday. Can you blame them for wanting that advantage for the tournament? I mean come on If it was more of the team's choice, I can live with that. They had said before that they love the loud crowds, so I get that. But also, the Arena is what Bart has been selling since he's been here. He's used it as a recruiting tool so far, and he talked about his love for the history there. As for long term, the Arena DOES need much more modernization of the overall amenities (concourse and such) to last more than another 10 years, however, if this is an option: Marquette's lease at Fiserv is only through 2025, because they're looking at using a more moderate-sized campus arena for most of their games, with Fiserv as an option for games with larger crowds. Long-term, IF we either massively upgrade the KC or build a modern alternative on campus, capacity of 6-7,000, then the Arena for bigger games, that's a possibility to explore too. And lastly, if this is truly a case of the players and coaches agreeing to this, then why didn't Bart at least suggest that this was a team-oriented decision? It's easier to accept and doesn't give the impression that the Ath. dept made a rash impulsive careless decision. The picture being painted overall of this is not flattering at all for the Athletic department and the team. The idea of playing at several different venues in the same season is ludicrous. Fans will get confused as to where the game is. I led the effort to get the K built back in the 70's. It was NEVER meant for D-1 Men's basketball. Great win tonight. I love what Lundy said post game. He talked about his strategy, what he told the team at that first time out and more. He also pointed out that PFW started 5 Super Seniors, while we started five guys who haven't played together before this year. He also said "We were picked ninth, that team we just played was picked 1st. We're not in First right now but they're in ninth." BOOYAHH www.youtube.com/watch?v=6WMq6l5j-Qc

I suppose a 6 point deficit at halftime isn’t horrible, but my gosh, yet another half where over 45 points are given up. What does this say about the effort level of this team? Not a lot. I brought my Developmentally Disabled nephew tonight. It's his first Basketball game of any kind. I was really hoping for better than this.

Did Wayne just say I am done and stop calling the game? I know how he feels. This is painful to watch. Especially when a 5'6" guy shoots it over Moses

Is it just me, or do we always seem hesitant to get on the floor for loose balls? Doesn't seem to be much of an instinct for it, or fight in that regard. I agree. They aren't hustling for the ball like they were earlier in the season. They don't seem to be putting their hands up on defense either

Another disappointing loss. I wonder if something is going on that we aren't aware of. Even without Browning we still won some decent games. The last two games, the Panthers haven't looked like the same team. Only game they won without Browning was Oakland. That was 50, 1st half points by OU. The game versus Detroit, once Browning went out, Davis really heat up. As I said on Saturday..... We miss Browning. He is our best defensive guy. Miss his speed. Miss him taking it to the rim. Him not being in the line up is putting pressure on Freeman and stress on KP and EJ. KP looks tired. I also think the ankle is not right after the injury at NKY. His rebounding is not the same. Losing Browning IS huge, BUT I don't know that it's huge enough to make a 40 plus point swing between our first games against YSU and Robert Morris.

That's true. It used to be that players kept their scholarship for four years unless they were kicked off the team for some infraction. But the players who wanted the ability to leave for whatever reason, forgot that it's a two way street. Produce or lose your scholarship to someone who will.

We have to push the Cleveland State Game now. Start talking it up. It could be for the HL Title.

Media is starting to give some love to UW Milwaukee. Seems like a base of 2000, keep growing little by little. GO PANTHERS!!! Yup the Journal/Sentinel recently added a "Panthers' header on its website sports page.

More signs of the Panther's Upward Trend.
I stopped a Kwik Trip today. Had my Panthers sweat shirt on. The guy behind the register said "Go Panthers." I mentioned the YSU game coming up and he responded that he can't wait. Then another customer said "I hear they're doing really good this year." When is the last time you heard people talking about the Milwaukee Panthers in the middle of the day at a gas station?
Even better, the Journal Sentinel website has headers on its online sports page. They were the Badgers, Packers, Brewers, Bucks, MU and Preps. Now the Panthers have a header right next to the Golden Eagles.
It is perhaps a small thing but it's a sign that people are taking note.
