He genuinely enjoys conversations with us and he has a real interest in hearing whatever questions we might have. In his first two going on three years here, he has been nothing but gracious with his time, and answers every question. |

In his first two going on three years here, he has been nothing but gracious with his time, and answers every question. And he was like that the first time I met him, at the baseball game. After talking with him about what his plans were for the program, and how engaged he was, that convinced me to renew my season tickets his first year. He's been so wonderful at talking and engaging with fans and media. |

I believe Cactus has asked in the past what is Bart Lundy's goal in creating a non-conference schedule. Lundy wants home games. He is amazed in how Greg Kampe schedules at Oakland, yet he said how does that work out for SWAC schools. Lundy wants a balance of 6 home/5 roads for the non-conference. Doing a 5-5-1 with the 1 neutral being played in Milwaukee this year fits that model.
He likes his team. Without saying it outright, it sounds like they are fixing the mistakes that happened last summer. He said something to the line, that he is not the manager this year, he is coaching his team this summer.

From talking with the players, mainly Darius and Faizon, it sounds like the team's really taken a focus on playing tougher and focusing on defense. They've also been using "2:50" as their motivational phrase, which is how much time was left in the HL title game when the game was tied before Oakland pulled away.
