Only question left is how many games do they win? Remember last year they won 92. And they are already at 79. A dominant September and they have a chance at beating the franchise record for wins and a outside chance ( cue Harry Doyle) of winning 100 for the first time- they would need to go 21-6, admittedly unlikely

At 79-56, the Brewers are a season high +23 in the win column. To maintain that margin, they would to win 25 of their remaining 27 games to end up 104-58. If they want to finish at +20 in the win column (101-61) they would need to finish 22-5. They won't need to win that many games to finish on top of the division

While not irrelevant, regular-season wins mean comparatively little until several years later. Let's focus on greater heights and the brass ring.

While not irrelevant, regular-season wins mean comparatively little until several years later. Let's focus on greater heights and the brass ring. Each game right now seems very relevant. It would be great to get a top two seed in the NL. I'm guessing that is what you were trying to imply. My focus is on the moment. I will concern myself with the postseason in the postseason. To me, it is every bit about the journey at least as much as the destination. This and any season can be highly successful even if it ends up short of a brass ring. I'm happy to attend some Brewer games down this stretch at Am Fam Field and Chase Field. I've got Brewer Fever!

Nice Labor Day win for the Brewers. Adames with ANOTHER 3-run HR, which ties him with Griffey Jr. for most 3-run HR in a season (13), and Chourio with a great game for his OPS, with 3 walks and a grand slam HR.
Magic Number down to 15.

And the Scrubs blow a late 3-run lead, giving up 5 runs to the Pirates in the last two innings to lose.
Magic Number at 14.

For awhile there it looks like we were going to jump the Phillies. Instead we are now down 1.5 games. Still dropped the magic number to 13 with the Cubs loss

Elvis P shouldn't pitch again unless it's a complete blowout. Any base runners, he gives up 3+ runs, guaranteed.

Brewers will try to get their bats running again against the Rockies. Cubs already lost facing a REAL team in the Yankees today, so that much closer to the division.
Magic Number is 12 prior to first pitch.
