I haven't been this nervous about acquiring a pitcher named "DL" since several years ago when the Brewers signed Grant Balfour.๐
Seriously though, do they now trade Adames to make room for Ortiz? If they can get more MLB ready prospects,I say go for it.

Interesting column on Counsell by a "fan" in today's Journal Sentinel. As far as I'm concerned, it's totally delusional.

Interesting column on Counsell by a "fan" in today's Journal Sentinel. As far as I'm concerned, it's totally delusional. Extremely delusional. People who think the manager has a big impact are also delusional. There is a reason they are, by far, the lowest paid coach in professional sports. Murphy will do just fine, maybe even better, at a fraction of the cost. I love Craig , and good on him for chasing the money, but heโs just a manager. An asshole for choosing the cubs over the Mets, but again just a manager. Honestly, it always pissed me off when he rolled out Hader and now Devin in the 9th inning of tie games. Payamps would do fine in that scenario and save your closer (both are two of the most prolific strikeout pitchers in baseball history) for the 10th when a runner is on 2nd. Maybe Murphy will have a different strategy and be better. Sorry for the rant. Go Panthers ! YSU is going down !

I disagree. Most experts say agood manager can get you an extra 8 to 10 wins a season. It's not just about pitching changes, it's also about club house atmodphere, using the right players in the right situation. I remember an ESPN baseball analyst who said he couldn't explain the Brewers being in 1st "other than Craig Counsel being the reincarnation of Harry Houdini."

Announced last night that Devin Williams has 2 stress fractures in his back and will miss ~3 months. Tough.

Brewers win the opener 3-1. 1 hit on 92 pitches. One of the most dominant pitching performances by the Brewers in a opener in decades

Freddy Peralta pitched like the ace of the staff.
Jackson Chourio got his first major league stolen base, his first hit, and his first RBI, along with making a couple of good defensive plays.

Nice 2-0 start. Jackson looks pretty good so far. Seems to make something happen every time he comes up to bat. Rhys is already becoming a fan favorite the way he's getting into the heads of the Mets and their fans. Yeli is looking back in form too.
Really, I think this team can be in good shape if they're around .500 or better when Garrett and Devin are back.

You want a fantastic story? Listen to Rod Black call his son Tyler's second big league hit. Awesome!!!

Gotta love the MLB umpires! Always trying to upstage everyone else on the field! There's no "I" in team, but there is in "UMPIRE!"

The Cubs have jumped out to a 5-2 lead and immediately upon arriving at work, a Cubs fan is singing "Go, Cubs, Go!" in my ear!
