You led the effort to get the K built? Now we know who to blame.😉 You have no idea how hard it was. You think the deck is stacked against Milwaukee now, you should've seen it back then. We had less than 1 square foot of rec space per student vs other campuses with their 10 and more. We literally had the only Basketball game in NCAA history rained out. The roof at Baker Fieldhouse leaked creating big puddles. We wound up playing then 5th ranked Oral Roberts the next night at the Arena and nearly won before a large cheering crowd. Even that still didn't move enough votes on the State Building Commission but it did help us get one more. I went up to Madison lobbying so often that I should've gotten credit for it as part of the Political Science course. Once we got it, I was done. I had nothing to do with the design. I did however suggest the name. Ernie Spaights told me that's a no go because you can't name a building after someone who's still alive. My response was "Why wait til their dead and won't know it." To me it made sense. It was last piece in the campus that Klotsche built. Besides I promised him we'd do something to make sure he was remembered after that 75 year old man beat me and another 20 something year old at Blow Pong in the Kenwood Inn at the retirement party we threw for him. (Blow Pong involves blowing a ping pong ball off your opponent's side of a ping pong table. If you succeed they have to take a drink. We got a table moved up from the Rec Center for the game. The Chancellor was undefeated in five matches that night. His partner basically stood there and let him do all the work.) I was gone from school when it opened but I did get an invite to the grand opening. Spaights wrote in it, something like "We took your suggestion so I hope you can come." That was special for me. Awesome story. The rain out tid bit is something I never knew.

I wouldn't worry about the game selling out. That would be a good problem to have. Highlights will likely never be seen on ESPNU. Even if they would be, the Klotche on video looks like a lot of other mid and low major venues. Before some attack me. I hate the KC. Wish it was at my Arena in UWMPA. Game is not on TV. If fans are turned away I would be shocked. 3500 is tons of tickets to sell. Again these are our campus not semi/finals attendance. 2022- 803 2014- 1204 2012- 3482 at the KC 2010- 2178 2009- 2425 2008- 2017 If we can get a true 2K at the KC, I would be trilled.

We averaged 1,644 fans per game in the regular season. Here is a look at attendance for our last five home games:
2,419 against Green Bay 1,768 against Detroit 1,807 against Oakland 1,790 against PFW at Klotsche 3,334 against Cleveland State
If we think attendance drops in the early rounds of the conference tournament, 2,000 seems like a realistic goal to have. I'm hopeful we have 2,500 fans at Thursday's game. I am bringing three extra people, so hopefully some others do the same. It would be nice to have a large raucous student section too.

Don't want to hijack the Wright State thread, so let's try to keep KC stuff here.
Of course the crowd was going to be good last night. It's the Panthers first winning season in seven season. We are drunk for a winner. Things were so low last year with the PBJ hype didn't work the way many had in mind and major losing again. Not just losing, many home blowouts. Many buying season tickets because of PBJ and he played in 1/3 of the games. Many said screw it, I'm done again.
I don't think the crowd was great last night. It was very good. Students were great! Too many of the adults were sitting way too much. People should have been on their feet many times in the game. Going up big early, why were people not standing. Guess we are not there as a fanbase yet to really put yourself part of the game.
Who knows what attendance would have been at UWMPA. Guessing almost the same. Yet, we will never know. I think others would have came that were not at the KC last night. I think some who were at the KC would not have been at the Arena. Remember tickets were only a mere $10. That is very high school'ish pricing. While Panther Basketball is the best deal in town. Don't believe me look up pricing for the Bucks, Marquette, Admirals and Wave. You are still not getting in for $10 at the Arena, unless you buy season tickets for the $99 Gold Pass or in the the 300 level for $129. That winds up being $8 per game. The goal by everyone moving forward is trying to get people to gets season tickets. Games you miss, you can trade in your seats for other games.
I feel sorry for the business that supports us in Major Goolsby's. They missed out in having a pack place before and after the game.
While games versus MSOE and PFW were disapointing at the KC becasue of a women's/men's both played, I understand over Thanksgiving for having the Cream City Classic at the KC. Crowds were poor. About 800 people in the building. The UWMPA charges UWM for two games with the 4 team field. It made solid business sense to play at the KC.
Anyone who was around in 2012-13 when the Panthers moved back to KC, knows the school lost 50% of the season ticket base. Plus, students didn't show up as many said they would.
Moving forward the team will almost never be in the KC anymore. With the OHOW Center now starting to open. Yes, there will be a game or two at the KC. Yes, the open practice in October will be at the KC. Yet, that's it.
Last night was fun. I've sat on the bleacher side all year. The view is better than the chairback seats for us. Yet, with a filled up KC. Knees were in our backs and I lost our leg room. It sucked! I pay $558 for my 2 seats at the Arena. There is nothing $558 at the KC for two seats. None! Everyone who sits in 223, 224, 225, 123, 124, 125, 110, 108, 107, 106, 209, 208, 207 taht pays that for season tickets will all say the same.
While Coach Lundy loved the crowd last night, your team won because they played well, not because it was at the KC. Heck, last week your team beat the better team at the Arena in CSU and was lucky to win versus a poor PFW at the KC.
Last our last game of over 5,000 was verus Green Bay. Trust me, that was louder than anything at the KC.

I love that various viewpoints can be expressed in this forum, particularly when it is done with courtesy and respect for opposing views. No doubt we are still feeling the effects of cry-wolf syndrome after a number of punches to the gut, including the freshest one - the PBJ debacle. Regarding the referenced complacency of the general crowd, let's not forget they are mostly adults. Most do not prioritize being a Panther fan nearly as much as participants on this message board. My memories of being part of a relatively raucous general crowd at a Panther game are the HLT championships and NCAA tournament games. I do not recall the general fans being as up for a quarterfinal game. That builds along with the championship run. Plus, after the great start last night, the rest of the game had a cruise control feel to it. It is a tense nail biter that brings out the passion, like we see in your GB video. Most importantly the non-student fans filled the seats. It looked and sounded great on TV. That has been a lot to ask over the last several years. In my mind, the crowd came through last night with flying colors.

The largest crowd i have ever been a part of was a game at the Arena-a comeback win over Green Bay when they were good (considerably pre-pmck) and we were just starting to be--Antrim was the coach, if memory serves.
The announced attendance was quite high. I want to say it was somewhere around 8000, which would be high on the list of best crowds in history.

I was at that Antrum GB game also. I had to sit in the corner because of the large crowd.
Question for the super OG's. Does anyone know about the largest crowd before that? I believe it was against Silver Lake College to see Mickey Crowe circa 1981???
