Can't believe nobody has comment on this.
What does this mean? Schedule dates are different? No more MKE/GB at YSU/Robert Morris or Dertoit/Oakland?

Hard to comment when you don't know what you're commenting on actually means.
If they mean that, unless and until the League gets back to an even number of schools, schools will no longer be paired for traveling purposes, if the coaches like it, i'm okay with it. It should make scheduling easier if you don't have to worry about what your travel partner is doing.

I agree with Skrapheap. What is the alternative to the current road partner format? We do not have enough information to take a position on it. Having stated that, here are some thoughts.
Prior to the RMU game Bart Lundy commented about the current format, stating he has never previously been involved in such conference scheduling. He implied he did not like it. Apparently other coaches agree with his concerns, which has led to the groundswell for change. I am confused by it. Having travel partners seems totally logical to me from a travel and expense standpoint. Let's see what alternative(s) they come up with.
If the travel partner concept is done away with, at least in the short term, Milwaukee's Saturday/Sunday opponent will not have been playing a bunny just two days before. I am referring to Green Bay, of course. But long term it may be different.

I agree that the current format seems to make sense to me. But if the players and coaches aren’t fans of it, then apparently there’s something I’m missing that makes it less than ideal.
But from a fan’s perspective, it makes traveling to road games easier. You’ll have 2 games in 2 days that are pretty close to one another. It’s one of the main reasons we see so many visiting team fans at Panther Arena. They get 2 games (at GB and at MKE) so they just make a trip out of it. I won’t be overly sad to see fewer fans of the opposing team going forward though.

Yet, I don't know what he doesn't like about it. Heck, it's done in the Pac-12 with travel partners. LA schools at the AZ schools, etc.

Maybe he doesn't like that the Pittsburgh area, Cincinnati area, Detroit area and Indy area travel partners get to play UWGB during the same trip. Seriously.

I have always liked the travel partners concept and never realized some players and coaches had issues with it. Interesting.

Just because Scott Nagy did not like having to play a lot of road games late in the season this year, he wants all conference programs to incur greater expenses by abandoning the travel partner concept. Wright State of all programs, whose athletic department has been crying financial hardship for the last few years!
Abandoning travel partners does not differentiate the HL from DII. Being fiscally responsible, which is what the travel partner concept helps do, is an important criteria for being a solid mid-major conference.
Flying to Pittsburgh to play RMU one day and then to Youngstown two weeks later seems like a significant extra cost to me. Multiply this by five. However, show me an alternative that does not significantly increase the bottom line, and I would be fine with that. Someone needs to credibly crunch the numbers, including the revenue impact of not having the fan fatigue that Nagy references.

Is the issue 2 road games in 3 days? Well, the Big 12 does that. Baylor was at Kansas on Saturday & at Kansas State on Monday.
Or is the problem that it's always the same travel partner? Example the trip at YSU and RM could have been Milwaukee & NKY as the road teams for the weekend.

I assume from Lundy's implication that is one of these or both. But these are not Nagy's reasons. It would be interesting to hear from the other programs about this issue.

By getting rid of travel partners travel costs will practically double. Yes, some money will be saved on hotels as teams won’t be staying all weekend as they will fly in and out right after the game. But it is still double the flights as you will need to fly to RMU, and YSU separately. My question would be does this lead to teams driving more instead to save costs? Does Fort Wayne turn into a bus trip now to save a few bucks on a flight? If that’s the case now players are missing more classes as well as more fatigue dealing with these bus rides. Seems like a whole lot of wasted money for nothing.

Thanks for the link. I laugh at the stupid term power 5 and nobody does it. THE PAC-12 DOES IT!
