Milwaukee -1.5. O/U 128.5. I’m surprised by this line. Granted, I haven’t seen a lot of NKU, and I may be the only one who thinks this, but I don’t think they are that good. I think YSU will be our biggest competition to winning the conference. How quick Lundy has been able to have success in this conference is further proof we are in the right spot. Go Horizon ! Milwaukee should win this.

I think all games should be played at Panther arena. We have a beautiful stadium that the university paid a lot of money to get the rights to, we damn well should use it, and keep winning games so we can fill it once again! I only wish it were 4,500-6,000 seats. It's hard to create a tough ticket when there are 2,000 more seats than Duke has at Cameron Indoor and Giannis playing a block away. If the arena sat 6,000, even an attendance of 2,000 wouldn't look empty. 4,000 would look great on TV, and 6,000 would be so memorable everyone would be lining up their season tickets for next year. Covering seats with a tarp doesn't count. Curtains are a cop-out. Now if we were in the Atlantic 10, I think 10,783 would be fine. But we've got work to do before we get to that level. With the space that's wasted with the Panther Pit, not to mention the lower Student Section being half the size it was when we were in school because of the never used "Party Deck," I would guess that Panther Arena's capacity is closer to your 6,000 than you may think, Jimmy.

I do think we're much better defensively, but NKU averages almost 10 steals per game. That really worries me. It's certainly winnable for us, but we need to play like the first half of the PFW game, in terms of ball control, for the WHOLE game this time.

Milwaukee -1.5. O/U 128.5. It's now MKE -1.0 on the spread on ESPN.

I think YSU will be our biggest competition to winning the conference. NKU's last 5 games just don't look that impressive. NKU is 5-1 in the HL, tied with Milwaukee for first. That's impressive enough for me. A key to the game will be to contain Chris Brandon, a veteran high energy rebounder and shot blocker. It would help to get him in early foul trouble. I am concerned about his ability to give NKU second and third shot opportunities. Also, the Panthers need to get off to a good start. That is something they often struggle with. Our relatively larger crowds are conditioned to think "here we go again." Let's not have that happen.

Who here remembers the 2003 Horizon League tournament championship game at the Arena? That would be the gold standard for fast home starts.

Cactus is right about containing Chris Brandon. He has three double-doubles, including 12 and 14 against Wright State and 10 and 16 against Cincinnati. Maybe he performs better the closer he is to home like Hela in Thor: Ragnarok, but my guess is we're going to have a b**** of a time boxing him out on the boards. If Rand is in foul trouble, or can't play 25 minutes, we will need Jalen Johnson to step up big time and throw his body around down low. But I have another, more pressing concern.
NKU is 25th in the nation with 9.4 steals per game. Sam Vinson, the lengthy 6'5" guard, is 8th in the country with 2.64 steals per game. Marques Warrick is fourth in the conference through six HL games in steals. The team has 54 steals in six conference games, almost 10 per game.
Jalen Moore had three of Oakland's 8 steals against us. I think we're being too flippant about that whooping we took when we just dismiss it as a hangover. Teams that hound us have success.
This is not going to be an easy game.

Who here remembers the 2003 Horizon League tournament championship game at the Arena? That would be the gold standard for fast home starts. That start facilitated what was essentially a nonstop four hour party for thousands of Panther fans - two hours at the "Cell" that carried over for another two hours across the street at Turner Hall. BP got up on my table there to address the throngs and almost stepped on my fingers.

That is one way to help Panthers basketball appear more relevant on video to the general fan base. Perception is realty. I get that this is not easy though, because it would adversely affect the integrity of the ticket pricing structure. The best way to handle it in the future would be general admission anywhere in the Arena except for a few premium areas like court side, a few rows behind the team benches and half court, etc.
