Horizon had a year or maybe two with two bids. I think it was 2002 or 03?
I'm not convinced moving to the MVC at this point is a good move. It didn't help Valpo, they have been terrible since going there. Only after sustained success and full support from the administration should a move like that be made. Otherwise we'd be at the bottom of a better conference, rather than the top of a bad one.

Much different league back then. This was about when I started following the Panthers. At the time I didn't realize how good the league was. Looking back now it is a night and day difference with the current league. I think the Horizon is starting to get better but it's certainly a long way off from where it was.

We have a nice arena and a nice practice facility. The vast majority of mid majors should be jealous of us. Also, I will continue to say it. We should not leave the Horizon. Why? If the goal is to make the NCAA tournament every year(and that should be the goal) why would we want to go to the MVC? I've always liked your glass half full approach Buppie! You make great points. Whatever situation we are in depends on how we frame it in our own minds. The Arena is special in its own right. The Horizon League is quite competitive and after bottoming out last year may be on an upward trend. Yet, it is winnable each and every year. How would we like it if we were in the WCC and had no chance against the likes of Gonzaga? Well being the WCC actually lets you get multiple bids. So yes I’d much rather be in that.

We would all love to be in a multiple bid conference. For now, it is just a matter of enjoying the moment. And we are having many more moments to enjoy this year than the last several!

Another thing I love about the Horizon is ESPN+. I can stream all of our games from Cali. Does the MVC have that? I would be awful sad if I lost that option.

I still remember watching all four Tuesday night games when they had that absolutely crazy night. What night was that? Now I have to look it up.

Yes, ESPN+ is the best thing ever for HL fans, including those of us who live out of market. The MVC is also fully available on ESPN+ as well as ESPN3. Some conferences are not. The Summit is an example. Some games, including North Dakota State at home, are on the ESPN streaming services, but most are on a hodgepodge of services. Some of them require paid subscriptions or are only on local over-the-air TV. Conference USA is on it's own fee based streaming service, except for a limited selection of cable network games.

Not having any of these games on local TV is terrible. Not sure why the count is zero this year on channel 24.

I know that I speak for a number of people when I say let's get some of these ROAD games on TV!
