25 turnovers is awful. Not the stacking you want.

This was nowhere near as alarming as our early-season loss last year to Florida and certainly no barometer of how we'll fare in the subpar Horizon League, but the turnovers need immediate attention.

I made a mistake betting the over on 135 total points, but overall I thought it wound up being a "building block" game as opposed to a "shut down and retool!" game.
Have to improve the ball security.

I thought Miszkiewicz should get more minutes. He gets on the glass. He works hard.

Just some takeaways from this one: Miszkiewicz doesn’t belong in the starting lineup. To me he looks very unathletic out there. JT shouldn’t be starting or getting big minutes either. I’d like to see more minutes for Edwards, Browning, and Stuart. Maybe start all three of them alongside Freeman and Rand? That starting lineup doesn’t seem crazy at all to me as it seems to be the best five players we’ve got thus far. At the end of the day, no matter what the lineups in this one if you take away some of those turnovers, it’s a much different game. Proud of the boys and how they showed some fight in the second half. Cant wait for St Thomas on Wednesday! I like this starting lineup. Furthermore, I think that Zach deserves more time. In addition to the two made 3s, he also recorded a game-high four steals. |

Agreed. Also - Zach definitely needs more minutes, he was playing hard on defense, and finally started hitting some more threes. I thought Stuart would play more than he did, we know he can shoot threes but didnt' seem like he got a lot of minutes. I'm sure JT had been playing great in practice but during games he does seem out of sync, hopefully he'll grow. I've been impressed with our defense so far, I thought they did a decent job in this one. Obviously turnovers are the biggest problem, but we need to remember this is a baby team, to use Lundy's term from the Purdue game. Those turnovers will definitely decrease as the season goes on. Can't wait to see this team play more! |

The turnovers were atrocious tonight (experienced PG play was my biggest concern coming into the season), and they still need to figure out a consistent rotation, but I love watching this team play.
Can’t wait to see them grow together as the season goes on.
