Win or lose we played tough when we could have given up early in the second half. This team will need to work out the best lineup and rotation but there is a lot of promise based on what we see tonight. ISU is barely ahead of us in total rebounds.

After falling behind by 8 playing some of the worst basketball I’ve ever seen, they played reasonably well, especially since this is the 4th game these guys are playing together (2nd against a D1 opponent). I wish they could keep it closer, but it’s not the worst they could’ve done.
Really, we need to see the team playing better as the year goes on. PBS had some decent starts to seasons, but his January and on were terrible. A 15 point loss to Iowa State isn’t ideal, but the real measure of this team is how they play in January, February, March, and April (hey, a guy can dream).

Just some takeaways from this one:
Miszkiewicz doesn’t belong in the starting lineup. To me he looks very unathletic out there. JT shouldn’t be starting or getting big minutes either. I’d like to see more minutes for Edwards, Browning, and Stuart. Maybe start all three of them alongside Freeman and Rand? That starting lineup doesn’t seem crazy at all to me as it seems to be the best five players we’ve got thus far. At the end of the day, no matter what the lineups in this one if you take away some of those turnovers, it’s a much different game. Proud of the boys and how they showed some fight in the second half. Cant wait for St Thomas on Wednesday!
