Let me just repeat what I said over a month ago: It's time for the University administration and the Athletic Board to take control of this disaster. We all know PBS's last game here is coming very soon. But let's not stay silent if our AD tries to make it look like she's solving a problem not of her doing by firing him, whether it's today or at the end of this sixth consecutive god-awful season. This catastrophe is 100% on her. Period. End of story. Her decisions have engineered the absolute destruction of our only athletic program with the ability to raise revenue -- or the University's profile. We have lost SIX YEARS. And I hate to say it, but there's probably no Bo Ryan out there who could refloat this sinking ship in less than a couple years at least. So we will have almost certainly lost the better part of a DECADE no matter what happens or who the next coach is. If we are saddled with another bad coaching hire, it could be more than that! And you can be confident that's exactly what will happen if this AD is allowed to hire the next coach. Meanwhile, we are now orphaned in a bad league while our peer institution has left for an immensely better situation. Another disaster. (Edited to add on 3/2: Probably a good thing, since they just swept us on the season.) Is there ANY accountability in this program?
(Further edited to add: Of course, now we're not so sure PBS's tenure is drawing to a close, since we also know that he got an extension from our esteemed AD -- which alone should be sufficient grounds for HER departure.)

Bet AB already has or is going to use the pandemic as a force majeure deflecting accountability...

The canary in the coal mine for me (other than JSP being our main post man heading into this season) was way back when PBS got hired. BlackPantherMKE posted on here that he heard through experienced reliable sources (active coaches, people in the NCAA DI know re: coaching profiles) just after AB announced hiring Pat Baldwin as our next coach, that PBS is known to be a very high character person however not very great at coaching strategy. As sure as the setting sun, after 5 years, I think that assessment has largely borne out (unless you think PBS is a bad person and a bad coach- I certainly don't). OUR UNIQUELY BIGTIME PROBLEM AT U of MILWAUKEE IS:- Some organizations have very effective leaders who happen to be dirtbag people.
- Others are lucky to have very effective leaders who also happen to be great people.
- Still others have a lesser problem than we do and have an ineffective leader who is at least a good person.
- We have an Athletics Department led by the worst of all cases: an ineffective leader who also happens to be a low-quality personality. I'm not trying to be mean; I'm basing this off of 9 years of "leadership" statements, emails and actions. All the Machiavellian political tactics, bullying, general sour demeanor toward MBB and Grade-A duplicity was obvious pretty early on.
Not good, not good guys. All we can do is hope that someone powerful eventually cares enough to take action.

Agree Victor except for the last sentence.....in some ways unless there is gross HR issue on her part or literally a mutiny I am doubtful Mr Coffee or any of the interchangeable minions in the university hierarchy have a clue or care. Plus based on various other reasons wont get into she is probably bulletproof for politically correct reasons

Food for thought from my friend who never visits the board:
"If the firing isn't done TODAY, it's probably not going to happen. After all, what assessments need to be made after the guy's gone 57-92 over five years? Why wait? Either there's money in the coffers to do this or there isn't. Don't hold your breath!"

As for AB, all Mone has to do is what Jimmy long ago suggested: re-assign her within the University to a role where she can do far less damage!

If Mone won’t sanction PBS’ firing because he’s got a year left on his contract, there’s zero chance he’ll fire Braun when she has a year left on her contract too.

Pragmatically true that wont fire both due to financial issues so PBS better look both ways for the bus when crossing the street, Amanda is probably already warming it up herself

Just dont put her in community relations I was thinking along the lines of the science department. She couldn't create any more chaos there.
