I’d be happy with TJO or LaVall Jordan. Really? LaVall Jordan? Isn't he like 89-90 for his career?! Well, some have implied they would like to go back to being a 5th placer again.

She didn't hire TJO and Jordan scooted immediately and, as pointed out by dylan, had an absolutely abominable year here and has shown very little with his own recruits at Butler. He's Jeter light. If that's your standard, I can see why you'd be fine with the same person making the same mistake again. It would appear LaVall is a better coach than Jeter since he’s coaching in the Big East. So calling him Jeter light isn’t fair. One could even argue that Jeter could be considered Jordan light. Note: This post is being made in jest. No need for anyone to get worked up.

I can’t say for sure either way, but most of Jordan’s head coaching career came after UWM and came with a high major program. Jeter started at a mid-major program coming off a tournament run, and never returned to that level. No high major program even considered him as a head coach candidate outside of that rumored interest from Iowa State very very early in his UWM career. I’m not saying Jeter wouldn’t be an upgrade over PBS. Of course he would be. Jackie Moon would probably be an upgrade over PBS. But don’t let your hatred of Amanda Braun blind you from the fact that Jordan has achieved more in his head coaching career than Jeter.

Seems like the second half has been extended garbage time.

Did YSU recently trade for Antoine Davis, and did he change his name to Michael AkuchIe?

I don’t hate AB. I just want her gone so our program has some semblance of hope again. I’d be perfectly happy if she got a big promotion and was hired by, say, Iowa or Ohio State, so she could ruin their program instead.
I find it hilarious that the best defense of her hiring incompetence is a guy she didn’t hire and a guy who went 11-24. 🤣🤣

Seems like the second half has been extended garbage time. But the players gave everything they had for coach Baldwin and they showed a lot of fight. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah...

Seems like the second half has been extended garbage time. You meant to type "Seems like this whole season has been extended garbage time."

PBS did not come out for his radio post-game comments. Come on Pat, this is the least you could do to earn your $300,000+ salary.
Damn, I miss those non-sensical cliches.

Do you mean the guy she tried to hire until Mone overruled her decision? I'm not defending AB and would like her gone. But the fact is she did try to make a good hiring decision but was overruled by Mone. So she is not alone is this debacle.

Really? LaVall Jordan? Isn't he like 89-90 for his career?! Yes. Maybe he moved on to the Big East too fast, but I remember the improvement I saw from players like Brock Stull and Brett Prahl. In his first year as head coach, his team had two actual forwards on scholarship. The team was so bare that it had Cameron Harvey starting most of its games. There were times that Cody Wichmann or Jeremy Johnson were the de facto center on the court. His overall record is tarnished by his first year here. Same could be said about Dennis Gates at Cleveland State. As for his record at Butler, it’s not great. He made the tournament a few times and was a top 10 ranked team at one point. But I do wonder if he needed more seasoning at the mid major level. And not every good mid major coach turns into a great high major coach. I remember when Tod Lickliter was doing really well at Butler, and then really struggled at Iowa. Doesn’t mean he’s not a really good Horizon League coach. Please don't compare Dennis Gates to anything we do. Dennis Gates is fantastic.

This is so false, I'm surprised Cactus isn't the poster. What has Jordan achieved over Jeter, exactly? Fill me in. So, he got hired at his alma mater... Big deal! He wouldn't be there otherwise. The argument could easily be made that Butler's profile has regressed greatly the past 5 years. I liked the guy quite a bit while he was here, too. Don't let your JDS church him up to be something he's not.

Please don't compare Dennis Gates to anything we do. Dennis Gates is fantastic. In his first season after a bloodbath of an offseason, Dennis Gates coached his team to an 11-21 season. In his second season, Gates took the next step forward and led his team to a conference championship. And before you say that Milwaukee’s administration is much worse than Cleveland State’s, I feel the need to remind you that this is the same university that hired Dennis Felton only a few years prior. In his first season after a bloodbath of an offseason, LaVall Jordan coached his team to an 11-24 season and a surprising trip to the HL Championship game. The next season, Jordan left very late in the offseason, so I credit him with not having much roster turnover. Even Pat Baldwin Sr. could only ruin the team to the tune of a 16-17 record. Sorry, I think the comparison is apt.

The useful myth of the awesome power of Lena Taylor over our athletic program. 🤣 AB had been our AD for almost three years. I don’t believe for a moment that she didn’t have the pull to make whatever hire she wanted if she was willing to stand up for it. But if she didn’t have that power that’s 100% because of her moronic decisions, horrific execution of them and disingenuous explanations for them of the previous two months.
