This guy needs to boost his production value because he's doing pretty good work. I've been playing around with OBS for my video game twitch streaming, but I also added a Twitch account called MKEHoops in case we wanted to bring back some kind of podcast in the future. I don't know if anyone would be interested in that, but I would be if there was enough interest.

"Taking Leave of Your Senses" should be the name.

No no, FTA. Taking leave of your senses is just what the Pearl deadenders did. "The Dumpster Fire" is what resulted. There's the perfect podcast name for the smoldering remains of our program.

That video was outstanding. 100% fact based analysis. Something we don't always see on the internet. For anyone interested in his comments from a few weeks ago about Milwaukee as an MVC candidate, here is a link to that video. It is the one JG Panthers referenced above. His summary begins at 15:47. youtu.be/6SxhxPkOwNY

"Taking Leave of Your Senses" should be the name. HA! You have to have senses in the first place to take leave of them. Checkmate.

We did the same thing when Butler announced they were leaving the HL for the A-10 a whole year before their planned departure. It resulted in Butler leaving for the A-10 a year early after we banned them. I get that most people think it is petty but realistically the conference doesn't get a lot of chances for good PR for the HL. Post season appearances/success is one of them. We don't want UIC representing the HL in post season play and all we hear announcers talk about is that they are joining the MVC next year. It just gives more positive PR for the MVC while taking away the little bit we get. I just feel like the student-athletes are getting lost in this. How about someone stepping up and beating them? By the way, ask a UIC alum how they feel about the chances of their basketball team reeling off four wins in a row.

In the end, does it even matter? Butler followed the bylaws and was banned the entire next HL season so they left immediately. The laws are the laws so if the HL wants to enforce them, that’s fine. But they’re the ones that should be criticized. It’s their choice to enforce and history says they likely would’ve banned UIC no matter when UIC informed them. So the HL is ultimately the one here that doesn’t care about the well-being of the student athletes.
We are not just talking about basketball. It's all sports. Their basketball team has no real shot at the post season, but their baseball team for example does have a good shot.
In regards to their student athletes, I feel bad for them but the blame should go to their dumb ass administration.
As a practical matter it is just about men's basketball. None of the other HL sports gets any publicity to speak of, which I believe was your rationale for excluding UIC from the tournament.
As for the second point, we at Milwaukee are painfully familiar with a dumb ass administration making decisions that mess with our student athletes. On that basis I'm inclined to say let UIC play. Excluding them would also give some undeserving team a first round tournament bye. That's arguably unfair to six other teams.

Fran and Pounce,
Well said. Allow the student athletes to compete and if you have to just withhold the revenue
