I think we have all drank the kool aid when talking about the talent level on this team. I didn't drink any Kool aid, and it's well documented in these threads. Don't speak for me. Seconded. Frankly I have wondered if it has simply been so long (or, to be exact, six seasons) since we have seen a truly talented roster that the observers here who seem to think our roster (apart from PBJ) is talented have simply forgotten what it actually looks like.

I always wait to try the Kool Aid until the season starts. The first sip I took during the North Dakota game was alright. Subsequent sips left a terrible aftertaste.

What's with the ref that was t happy! Bull sh*t 4th foul on JSP and gave him t, then he was out with the 5th foul. Same ref also later t'd up the bench. Baldwin just stands there and doesn't say sh*t. Nothing addressed on the post-game radio on that. I could be wrong but on the bench technical, I thought I heard someone yelling “You suck!” from the Panther bench. I don’t know to who. And I don’t know that it was technical worthy. But it’s certainly not what you want to hear from your bench. Whenever I see a team like Cleveland State that is so enthusiastic from their bench, I’m worried as an opposing fan because that team likes each other and wants to build each other up. If our bench is taunting an opposing player or the referee from the bench, that’s not helping the team. That just shows a lack of focus and frankly, a lack of care. Again, I don’t know that a technical was deserved, but I do know that it’s yet another sign PBS has lost his team. Again. For all we know our bench was yelling "You suck!" at our own players on the floor ! That's just speaking the truth at this point, no technical deserved! Putrid is right.

Speaking of our roster, how many guys are transferring at semester end? If you are Kyle Ross and Devin Hanc***, what makes you stick around at this point?

The statement that hasn't been said about drinking the Kool Aid (PBJ) is who brought it for people to drink it. NBA draft boards brought it. Hard for some not to drink it.

I still don't see a NBA player. Maybe if he was at a blueblood program, we'd be seeing it? All I see is a run of the mill Horizon League player. The PBJ we've seen would not start for Brad Stevens at Butler. He just wouldn't.

Speaking of our roster, how many guys are transferring at semester end? If you are Kyle Ross and Devin Hanc***, what makes you stick around at this point? I would guess that our better players (Gholston and PBJ… perhaps Newby and Lathon) will be gone along with the players not seeing the floor (Ross, Hankock, perhaps Sinani). I think someone like JSP may stay because this may be his best opportunity to get playing time at the D1 level, and he’s been in SE WI his entire college career. I suppose that VBJ could stay here to be close to his family and get playing time as well. I think we’ll have to see how Browning plays after he comes back from injury to make any guess. Normally, there is a mass exodus when a coach leaves anyways. Springs, Johnson, and Arians left after Jeter was fired and Nze, Bell, and Stull left after Jordan moved on (a year later, but Jordan’s leaving was pretty late in the off season the year before). I doubt any player other than PBJ would be attached to PBS as head coach, though, so there will likely be a mass exodus whether or not PBS is renewed. This off-season will probably be reminiscent of Cleveland State a few years ago. The odds of getting the next Dennis Gates are slim, but I also don’t think either Braun (TJO) or Mone (Jordan) necessarily made a bad decision for head coach the first time around, so maybe there is some hope. But there is no doubt that this time around, it’s been a disaster.

There are reasons to be cautiously optimistic about this team though. Hear me out if only to prove me wrong when all the dust has settled in April. www.milwaukeepanthertracks.com/2021/12/battering-ram.htmlPS: It looks bad now but it ain't over!! ; and Duct_Tape_Pounce I hope you mean off-season not at semester???!?!?!?!! A mid-season actual collapse of everything would not surprise me. But neither would winning the HLT with this team, and even this coach.

And I should note that this is wild speculation on my part. I have no knowledge whatsoever about the players’ intentions.

The PBJ we've seen would not start for Brad Stevens at Butler. He just wouldn't. This is 100% coaching. The PBJ on the U-19 national team was rusty at first and then was one of the best players on the American team by the end of the World Cup. He made impacts in every game even though pretty much everyone was playing under 20 mpg because the team used the whole roster. It's a shame he won't play on the same team as Chet Holmgren any time soon, because they had some real chemistry (although they'd get eaten alive defensively in the NBA). It was coaching. Jamie Dixon is at TCU, Jerod Haase is at Stanford, James Jones has been head coach at Yale for as long as I can remember. All three of those guys have done a lot better coaching than PBS, and it showed then. I mean hell, Kam Cerroni's dad was PBJ's head coach in high school and I think he's a better coach then PBS. Sussex Hamilton lost the state semifinals by like one point when PBJ was a freshman and the only reason they didn't come close again was because of injuries (I'm not talking PBJ, that team has been PLAGUED with injuries). If somehow PBS gets his contract extended, the nail in the coffin of the program will be on draft night in the NBA when the analysts discuss whether or not the year spent with bad coaching caused PBJ's prospects to drop a lot or just a few spots. We better be moving into a new era next spring.

It’s never a good look to quit on your team mid-season (even though it looks like most players have internally quit already), and I’m not sure what the scholarship situation would be like.

"Holic, I just want to bump this. The Panthers are "catastrophically poorly coached." Amen.
