4-1 start in the HL, I can't complain too much about that.

The good news is that we won the game. We finished well and covered yet again. The bad news is that the first 5:30 of the second half was as sloppy as I’ve seen us play the last few years, and that’s saying something. We beat IUPUI today despite that stretch, but we may not be so lucky against better teams. Have to clean that up. Great to get the win though.

when was the last time we were 4-1 to start the conference season? It was in 2011-12, when we started 6-1. Prior to that, we started 7-1 in '08-09 and '01-02, 9-1 in '04-05 and '05-06 and 12-1 (and 10-0) in '03-04.

Glad to when the Panthers fell down by 7, they didn't resort to chucking three's every trip down the court. Good things do happen when they attack the rim.

Glad to when the Panthers fell down by 7, they didn't resort to chucking three's every trip down the court. Good things do happen when they attack the rim. Couldn’t agree more. Lucas made some beautiful passes to get some nice baskets when they needed them. And Newby and Hanc*** hit some big three’s to regain momentum. I’m so impressed by our freshmen this year. Great job by the coaching staff to put together this recruiting class on top of Gholston and Simms. This team has the potential to be special. Let’s just hope my excitement doesn’t come to a screeching haunt when we start playing the teams towards the top of the conference (WSU, NKU, etc.). But I’ll worry about that later. For now, 4-1 feels pretty darn good!

This team is just different than previous Baldwin teams. Much more balanced. They can go 10 deep and not lose too much. Impressive start so far.

"This was a very good weekend for us," Baldwin said. "From yesterday to today, we understood what it meant to play in a game two like this in a back-to-back against a team that is hungry and has very good players. And we knew that we were going to be in a dogfight today."
"We got down and our guys, just credit to them for fighting back and being resilient," Baldwin said. "We had difficulty with them covering the three-point line in the first half and in the second half we did a great job of contesting more of their shots. Overall, defensively, we did a much better job in the second half. This is a good win for our guys."

Per Todd Rosiak:
“Barring any more hurdles produced by COVID-19, the Panthers will host Purdue Fort Wayne next weekend as they seek to continue to remain among the leaders in the Horizon League standings.
They could have reinforcements as well, with Courtney Brown Jr. (toe) and Kaleim Taylor (illness) on the mend and UTEP transfer Jordan Lathon poised to make his UWM debut.”

Oddity of the game: Both teams combined for a total of three offensive rebounds. When was the last time so few offensive rebounds occurred in a game?

What I have seen so far I am really intrigued by. Team is athletic, quick, and that plays well in any conference. Have to keep it rolling.
