It's pretty awesome to wake up to Des Moines sports radio talking about how well the Milwaukee Panthers played. And then you get to work, open the paper and they're talking about the Milwaukee Panthers. Notice... neither media outlet used "UW-Milwaukee" once. Really excited about the direction of this program. Go Panthers. In Iowa, we're known as the University of Milwaukee. Damn forward-thinkers!!! |

Great win for the kids. No matter how young ISU is its hard to win in Hilton.
I sincerely hope the AD was there. I learned in 15-16 that if she wasn’t at a great performance against a high major, it didn’t actually happen.

Really nice win for a first time head coach.
To win on the road against Iowa State with almost half of the minutes coming from Sophomores is both impressive and promising.
Despite what some would prefer to believe, this program is setup for a lot of success in the coming years.

I don't feel as if I have any more insight into this team than I did before watching the mismatch in person, but it sure was fun. There's no feeling like causing an exodus in someone else's gym! We're now 10-63 all time vs. Power 6 programs.

a solid solid solid performance, in a gym that Big 12 teams have trouble winning, let alone non-conference teams. Hell of an achievement.

Let it be known that almost 6 weeks later, Iowa State (8-2, RPI #28) has not lost a game since losing to MKE.
Included in that stretch are two very impressive, double-digit, neutral court wins over likely NCAA qualifiers Boise State (9-2, #35), and UNI (6-3, #23). Clearly, the reaction of Cyclone fans to losing to MKE had more to do with fear over their 0-2 start than anything else.

Man, they really need to keep their entire roster available right now...they played without 3 guys last night and beat University of Maryland-Eastern Shore by 6. UMES is currently #343 (out of 351) on KenPom AFTER the game. Iowa State apparently dropped more than UNC did for losing to Wofford (obviously Wofford's a lot better than UMES...but UNC is also quite a bit better than Iowa State...that was the type of effort that we turned into a blowout win at Hilton)
