Pat Baldwin is a big guy. Strong voice. He got really choked up when talking about Doug and Chris Collins.

Coach Lowery is on his way to Butler. Butler website is showing him front page. As a friend of the family, it is sad to see him go, however to have the opportunity at Butler is pretty incredible for him.

I liked what Coach Baldwin had to say in the press conference. Can't wait to see who ends up on the staff. I'd love to see Coach Townsend stay.

I have to miss the press conference but let's knock the cliches out right away: - He's very excited for the opportunity to be here - The team will be a family - The team will play tough/hard and not quit - He will make sure there's not only a commitment to their academics but also the community ...am I missing anything? So did we have a winner in New Coach's Introductory Press Conference Bingo? |

I was hoping for more...elevation. I want to expand upon this; yesterday, my buddy and I were waiting for a tow truck to pick up his car and we were about to hit the road, so I couldn't say more. When I say elevation, I mean that I was disappointed to see that the promise is now Jeter-level. Amanda's whole justification for firing Jeter was that we weren't achieving at a high level. Don't worry, this isn't about Jeter or Amanda, but about our basketball program in general. I was disappointed to hear that we're going to win Horizon League Championships. Not because I want to go MVC or because I don't want those titles, but rather because I feel like it's aiming low. The last several years, many people wanted to move on to a new coaching regime because they wanted to see the Panthers excel and win at a higher level. Now, Coach Baldwin is promising to win Horizon League Titles. I'm fine with almost all of it. I just want more elevation. I want to see someone come in here and say we're going to do something we've never done before. When Pearl came in, he said we were going to win Horizon League titles. That was fine, because we had never done it before. But now we've done that, and then some. So let's aim for the sky, you know? This program needs, more than anything else, wild optimism. |
