Well, the entire team quit on their coach the week before the game and was forced to play three managers and the quarterback of the football team. We eked out a 100-21 victory. UWL, meanwhile, should be at full strength.

Only two non D1's, and playing a MAC, MVC and a C-USA team at home. Not bad.

Only two non D1's, and playing a MAC, MVC and a C-USA team at home. Not bad. All 16 regular season home dates at UWM Panther Arena. We had only 10 last year. I'm excited!

That Mt Scenario game was pretty embarrassing - for Mt Scenario for obvious reasons and Milwaukee for scheduling it. I recall Bo Ryan actually apologizing afterward for scheduling the game. One player for the Fighting Saints scored 19 of the 21 points. His team-mates looked like they were playing in their socks.
I like this year's schedule. It seems appropriate for this team. Given so many mid-majors scheduling multiple regular season non-D1 games, including Milwaukee in some of the last several years, having to play only one is pretty good. And at least it is not one of the long line of Trinity schools.
It is nice to see the last couple games that were added are against nearby competition from the MAC. Those games, as well as a couple of other non-conference games we already knew about, creates opportunities for road trips by opposing fans (sadly, not many take advantage of them though).

There is two non D1 on the schedule. I have seen pretty much all one bid league schools with 2, 3 and even 4. Heck, two Big Ten schools are hosting non D1's.
As a long time season ticket holder, I'm excited with all the regular season games (16) at UWM Panther Arena.
Funny, in October of 2015, the future of the Arena was in question. Now you have 16 Panther games. 38 Admirals games. 11 Wave soccer games. Couple of concerts and 5 roller derby events. Plus, one Milwaukee Bucks game for starters.

It was the quarterback who scored Mt. Senario's first 19 points. One of the managers scored the game's final points very close to the buzzer, slicing the final margin to 79.

Some of you guys always look for the negative on the board. I really don't get it. We knew there was going to a non D1 scheduled after we had narrowed it down to only 2 games left unannounced, now you're complaining about what particular non D1? Why can't we look on the bright side and be happy there wasn't 2 non D1 schools to round out the schedule, or how about being happy that ALL home games are actually in OUR home arena, or how about the fact that in his short time here Coach B was able to put together a full non-con schedule with only 2 non D1 schools. Not to mention our MTE we have on OUR home floor. Some of you guys kill me, try looking for the positive and being optimistic. There are teams in other mid major conferences competing for their respective conference titles this year, that have more non D1 schools scheduled than we do. We're lucky half these schools agreed to come play here anyway after all the turmoil surrounding this program the last couple seasons. Rome wasn't built in one day but they had to start somewhere, be happy we're starting with a schedule like this and not one featuring 3 or 4 non D1 schools.

You don't see any negative about playing LaCrosse in a REGULAR-SEASON game? From 2005-16, we never played a D-3 opponent in a game that mattered! In fact, we played 13 non-D1 opponents over 11 seasons and some on here were jumping off bridges! In the two most recent seasons, we've scheduled three such games and everyone seems perfectly fine with it. Let's at least be a little consistent.
What's the point of having a three-game home round-robin when two of the games are against Florida International and Concordia St. Paul? Wouldn't we have been better served getting into a tournament somewhere?
As for the rest of the home schedule, I like the Loyola and Northern Illinois games. Frankly, Western Michigan gives me the willies. Bad associations.
Western Michigan ... Tuberculosis. Throwback uniforms ... Tuberculosis. Thanksgiving week ... Tuberculosis. The Klotsche Center ... Tuberculosis!

No I really don't because as you just mentioned we've had 3 non D1 schools the past 2 seasons and this seasons there's 1 less. It's a start and being completely honest with you I'd rather have 2 D3 opponents than 3 D2. Non D1 schools all count the same towards your RPI or any rankings that actually matter, so it doesn't matter what D they are, if they're not D1 you should want less games against them. That means more meaningful games.
And as far as the round robin it's 3 additional home games how is that ever a bad thing. If you don't want to see the play FIU or Concordia ok come to a good game against Elon. If you can't make it to that game but you just want to see the team play go to one of the other 2. Hell if you have off all 3 days with nothing to do go to all 3. It's for us the fans to get more opportunities to see our Panthers play. So no I'm not seeing the negative there either.

Mr James Scott, like your post. At the end of the day overall that schedule is pretty decent. The main point is though for heavens sake can we have some fun and actually enjoy Panther basketball again rather than looking for the speck in the eye. I can do this in spite of that cretin, Braun, but if people can not get over that it only leads to bitterness and unhappiness. I wish she was not here and gone too but if this is going to lead to no mater what happens even if positive there will be constant sarcastic negative posts that is fine and everyone's right (free speech) but holy cow...really getting tiresome and snarky

Putting aside the truly horrible tournament and the indescribably embarrassing La Crosse game it is an "okay" non-con. The addition of NIU and WMU is better than I expected, and we got lucky that Wisconsin was willing to throw us a buy game. (Btw, what do you think the chances are that we will ever see another home game against Wisconsin while the current admin is in place? I put it somewhere between zero and Barry Alvarez rolling on the floor laughing.) But as dylan noted, some of us can't help but remember all the complaining about the schedules under Jeter -- which were at least as good as this one and usually much better. So was it the schedules, or just Jeter derangement syndrome? The answer is pretty obvious.
Considering that LaCrosse, CSP, FIU, WIU and JU are all gimmees how many wins do you think we get out of this non-con slate?
