Did the whole only showing up for one half thing again. Glad Cody is okay. Nze needs to learn how to stay out of foul trouble.

Watching Cody get carried off the floor, one would think he wouldn't play this Wednesday. For Cody to play is one thing, but 18 second half points and diving for a loose ball is out of this world!

What a disaster the first half was... impressed with how the team battled in the second half. Cody diving for that loose ball in a 25 point blow out tells you something about the kid.
Had to feel good for TJO to kick the crap out of us.

Yep, TJO got his first D1 win versus Milwaukee. Some people will have some cheap shot fun with it. That's OK. Some have also said TJO doesn't follow the rulebook to well.

One user on here once said that Hoiberg ran TJO out of town at ISU. Interestingly enough, he was run right back onto Hoiberg's staff two years later. So that was obviously BS. I was at the game today in SD. We were outplayed and outcoached by the very guy that Mark Mone vetoed in April based on his race. A curious mind would like to know how he likes the Caucasian guy now? Oh, you too Lena Taylor? Discrimination is not a one-way street. Discrimination and racism has no place at a great institution like UWM. Go Panthers!

Yes, isn't it ironic when the hypocrites who scream the loudest for race and gender equality, scream even louder when they get the very thing they are demanding. In reality, it's not equality they are seeking, they sadly want special privileges and special consideration. I'm sure TJO was on a mission to destroy the Panthers after the way he was shafted for no reason other than the color of his skin.

First, I want to say loved the second half, didn't have to see the first cause it was terrible. Next, I think we should be talking about how good this team can actually be when they finally get more experience with each other and against different looks defensively because let's face it in the first half we looked like high schoolers against that 1-3-1, but at the same time people are praising TJO for this 1 win remember he started 1-6, while having a legit big on the roster and available all year. When we had a legit big for one game (B.Prahl vs UC Irvine) you saw how much better this team is. And I think if Prahl had a game anywhere near the one Saturday we could have won that game. And finally this race issue, pinkpanther you think just because in this one case that a black man was chosen over a white man because of his skin color is the problem? Do you know how many D-1 D-2 D-3 JuCo or whatever kind of sports institutions out there still haven't had a black coach in their history? Or how about the number of black coaches that weren't hired because of the color of their skin and instead the job went to a white man? None of that matters in this situation? None of that was thought about before you posted that? We got the guy we got now deal with it. And those who are speaking about equality for race as well as gender it's because there is none. The amount of white male coaches in the NCAA (all levels, all sports) out numbers the amount of black males by more than half. Hell, in Wisconsin alone we have 4 D-1 (basketball) schools and for the last 12 seasons we're the only school that has had a black coach. So just because we get one doesn't mean we shut up, it means we continue until it's what it should be and that's EQUAL. Don't turn a blind eye to the racism that's been going on for years just because you finally have a situation to where your race is being discriminated against. But at least pinkpanther you have some idea of what so many black men and woman are going through in the world even if you had to live it through TJO.
Just for the record I don't believe in racism, I love all people black, white, pink, green, yellow, blue. Skin color doesn't matter to me and this is not one of the many topics that we should be having on this board but I felt I had to address this situation because I felt there was a bit of ignorance being spat on this board. If you guys don't mind I would love to keep race out of these discussions and focus on what we are all here to support and that's Panther Basketball.

I get how many don't want to talk about race on a basketball board. Fair or not tons of people were calling Amanda Braun a racist. Many were betting the house the next coach would be a black guy. Lena "don't you know who I'm" Taylor, made the firing of Rob Jeter a race thing. Mone was scared hiding in his office and said we have two great picks here in TJO and LaVall, so let's go with the black man to get the media and Lena off our back.

So many thoughts here. First of all glad both Otzelberger and Jordan got D -1 Head Coaching opportunities. Frankly, I am one of those vilified "liberals" that talk radio bashes everyday. That being said I found the Lena Taylor interference and if Tammy Baldwin interfered shame on her (I voted for her and likely will again). In some ways I guess you could view this as an affirmative action hire though do not want to be unfair to Lavall . It is what it is. That being said I am not totally against that either because due to our history and even the current reality there is still a place for that. The flip side is that I think regardless of what happened and how Lavall is also deserving and I am at peace with the whole thing now. Time to move forward though I also sense Mone is a bit of a wimp and slave to political correctness. He came make up for it with getting us the practice facility one way or another. Don's sense he is much of a power broker or negotiator though.

One other thing. Not to be naïve but are we sure this is factual and the way it really all came down or is it possibly supposition and "urban legend". Maybe no one will ever know for sure other than Braun and Mone. Again, wish nothing but the best for both coaches and especially our program!!!!

I get why Lena felt the decision was based on race, with the rumors on our AD and also the fact that not many D-1 coaches who win 20 games are fired immediately after. But I also get why our AD felt he was a mediocre coach. But my point to PinkPanther is how are you going to sit here and highlight the one in maybe 100 instances and act as if it's the norm. Like I said before I don't think any hiring should be based on someone's race, but its something that unfortunately happens but don't act as if it hasn't been happening to black coaches for years, the one time it may have happened to a white coach.
