I like how your only response is that i must work for UWM if i try to support the program. As if supporting my school is a bad thing...Apparently, i don't see the enjoyment out of all this that you are getting. If I didn't know any better i would guess you are a closet Marquette supporter since you get so much enjoyment out of bashing UWM athletics. I agree they don't have those issues, but they have had their own issues. Bo just went through his. I don't recall any Badger supporters calling for the school to shut the program down because of it. I hate the Badgers with a passion, but i would say most of their fans have acted in a better fashion in a tough situation than you DarkHawk.

Enough people here know and can attest to both. Since you are new here, I guess the references to Nighthawk are totally lost on you. You really don't know what that means, or more importantly how deep the passion runs in me. You don't know what "SWEEP THE LEG" refers to, or the references others have made to running commentary on officiating, or the open letter to Pearl...or the editorial in the UWM Post direct at the students....I could go on, but why bother. I shouldn't have to provide my bona fides to someone with a grand total of 10 posts here. You are totally right. I am secretly a Marquette fan. You got me. Totally busted. And here I thought I covered my tracks so well while working as an agent of the enemy. I am sure the long timers over at MUScoop are having a great big belly laugh at the idea that Nighthawk is a Marquette fan.

I'm glad you have a long running history here and a passion for the program. Our program needs more passionate fans. All I'm saying is it would be great if your passion had a more positive impact on the fanbase. I care that the program is successful and growing and the negative comments players in public and fans doesn't help that cause.

The fans and players making negative comments are doing so because they view Amanda as a bigger detriment to the program than those comments. I think most here would agree that Amanda lied regarding the post season tournament and the reason for not pursing it. She also had goals the program must meet, or there would be changes. However she admitted to the players that she never shared these goals until after the season. She also did her best to ensure they would not meet those goals by turning down a fully funded with no University money foreign trip. The extra practice time and game experience would have more likely than not improved the team. An improved team wins more games. Winning more games means that you finish higher in the standings. I think that having and AD who lies to the players, makes arbitrary goals without sharing them, and then does not give the program the resources to accomplish those goals is much more negative that making comments on a message board that is viewed by 50 people, or a player going on a news cast that will be forgotten by 90% of the 60,000 people that viewed it within a month.

Do you know if those goals were shared with Rob? The players aren't going to be privy to every discussion she may or may not have with the coach. If he knew the goals and failed to meet them then they have nothing to complain about. I agree that more playing time helps, but i also watched a lot of close ball games that were lost due to questionable coaching decisions. Players will always get upset when a coaching change happens with a "players" coach, but that is no excuse for taking complaints to TMJ4. It is nice to see Akeem is willing to talk with the new coach. Hopefully, cooler heads will prevail.

You do realize that if Amanda hadn't lied about the post season, told the players the goals she had for the team, and had allowed them to take the fully funded foreign trip the players wouldn't be talking to the media, because there would be nothing to talk about.

All I know is that our players have managed to get more publicity for the program in a week than our administration seemed capable of getting for us in a year.
I am DAMN proud of these kids!

Speaking of goals and evaluating performance based on goals, I wonder how well Braun is doing regarding goals set for her. I don't even know what her goals are...but I would hope she has some and is being held to them. Specifically: - I would like to know if the corporate sponsorship goals are being met. I would expect that by year 3 of her tenure we would have seen overall growth of the corporate sponsorship dollars by anywhere from 10 - 20%. That is only 3% - 7% growth annually and should not be considered to be a high bar to meet. I have heard that we are moving seriously in the wrong direction where this item is concerned, but would like to see the actuals.
- I would also expect to see donations to the Panther Fund grow at about the same rate. Money given to improve the Panther Arena to accommodate the Admirals should be excluded from those numbers as they are not really "usable" dollars for the Milwaukee athletic program. There is some benefit to the Milwaukee program due to those upgrades, but that money is spent largely by the Admirals on the Admirals for the benefit of the Admirals.
- How is the Department doing in terms of conference championships overall and the McCafferty Trophy. I know we won it in 13-14...but Jeter won the conference tournament that same year, so apparently one win in that period is insufficient to be deemed a successful tenure. A little research shows we finished second last year and are tied for 4th this year. It seems we may be trending the wrong direction. Of course that trend is probably entirely the fault of Rob Jeter and the basketball program (but the win in 13-14 has nothing to do with him, either).
These seem to me to be key elements in the performance of any AD, and it is fair to say that we are not seeing the AD perform nearly to the expected levels.
Doesn't that mean that jobs should e on the line in the AD as well? If we are going to be hard liners on goals, what's good for the goose is good for the gander.

I always thought "the ability to form complete sentences" should be added to the job description of the head SID, head of marketing, and other jobs in the department.

Why can’t Amanda you be more like that Lloyd Braun? And here I thought drinking at lunch time was frowned upon at the athletic offices. I'm not affiliated with the athletic department or the university.
I do disagree with you on many fronts, and as a result you will attack me rather than act civil and cordial.
Why is disagreeing with someone so bad? Must you make cheap shots towards me because I hold a different opinion than you?

Why can’t Amanda you be more like that Lloyd Braun? And here I thought drinking at lunch time was frowned upon at the athletic offices. Given the recent actions of said office, I actually think drinking in the athletic office is MANDATORY and enforced very strictly. A min BAC of .120 is required during work hours. This is another one of Amanda Braun's SUPER TOP SECRET DON'T TELL ANYONE goals, BTW.
