Oakland just lost to NKU at home 90-73. Oakland didnt shoot well....Three ball and shooting over 50% won the game for NKU despite each team taking the about same amount of twos and threes, and NKUs defensive rebounding was huge limiting Oaklands second chance points. We need to be crashing boards on offense with at least two people please Milwaukee, especially when we have a smaller and quicker line up in--for the amount of threes we take that give to long rebounds you would think its in our favor to do so. Felder still had 25 pts....very few assists for Oakland as well. |

Oakland's defense is terrible and they want to play at a very, very fast pace. Play them like we did UIC, with Jordan Johnson surgically dictating a very measured tempo, and don't crash the O boards at the expense of allowing OU to get transition points. K Felder will obviously get his points, but frankly we are a better team.

...and the JS has NO preview.
Long article about Nigel Hayes -- who doesn't play until TUESDAY. Another long article about the dregs of the Big East bumbling and fumbling against each other. Why there's even a column about a football recruit. A football recruit.
And nothing for Milwaukee's team in the "hometown" paper.

I worry about their dribble/drive penetration. We can't seem to stay in front of anyone on defense. It will be a treat to watch Felder/Johnson.

First game in person. We REALLY need a new court. The black lanes and baselines are full of scuff marks, and there are discolored areas where new boards have been used to patch damage. It's gnarly.

Terrible sequence at the end of the first half: Tiby gets called for a questionable foul, wonders out loud what he did. Ref gives Tiby a technical despite doing nothing but asking what he did, then refuses to give Rob an explanation and goes as far as to warn him about walking out a few feet on the court. Meanwhile Tiby has 3 fouls despite not even honestly earning the second.
Par for the HL course in other words.
