USA Today has us as a #15 in Milwaukee against Michigan.
Highly doubt that happens.

Actually, I think that just might happen.
A couple of Marquette fans on the airport shuttle with tickets to Thursday's sessions were saying that they hope it does happen.

Not saying that it will happen (or if it even can), but that would be an amazing atmosphere with both UW and Milwaukee at the Bradley Center.

Can you imagine the gripe Michigan would have though? They earn a #2 seed and get rewarded by playing us across the street from our home court. Not only would we put a large number of people in there but with the Badgers playing there as well (Most likely) they would pack the place. It would be a giant Red/White-Black/Gold raucous crowd cheering against Michigan. I would love for it to happen but I don't think the committee would do that to Michigan.

I can't imagine a 16 or 15 being allowed to play in its hometown.
Also, that would rub salt in the wound for me since I'll be out of town on business Thursday through Saturday next week. Gahh!
I think there are second/third round games in St. Louis. It would be sweet for Panther fans (at least those not stupid enough to schedule business trips out of town during that time) if the Panthers were slotted there. Easy trip from Milwaukee. If that doesn't happen, I hope they send us to Orlando so those who follow the team can at least get some decent weather.

I think a 2/15 matchup with Virginia would be right up our alley. The Cavs need to make some noise in the ACC tourney to make up for the Maryland loss, however.

Oh, I completely agree that Milwaukee at the Bradley Center won't happen. Remember how pissed Pittsburgh was several years ago when as a 3 seed they had to play sixth-seeded Wisconsin at the Bradley?

The thing is though that Milwaukee and uw would play during opposite sessions. It would still be awesome. Tickets to next weeks games in Milwaukee are already an arm and a leg. Can't imagine how much higher they'd get if Milwaukee was drawn here.

I hope the Panthers play at a site on a Friday, since I have tickets for the BC on Thursday.

I just need Milwaukee and Wisconsin to play in evening sessions, wherever and on whichever days of the week they play, so that I can at least watch the games. Otherwise I'm going to be very distracted during my meetings.

Jeter said on Bill Michael's show that they can't play within 50 miles of their campus. So the Bradley Center is out as an option.

That is basically the same gripe that Calhoun had about playing Mason in the elite 8 in DC in DC in '06. How did that game turn out?

Because George Mason's campus is only 20 miles from the Verizon Center where they played in the '06 sweet 16. I always thought that we could play in the arena IF we were not the host. I assume Marquette is the host. If Jeter is correct the rule must have changed . In '08 UCLA played at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA, in the then first round. I plugged in the Zip Code for the UCLA Campus (90095). And it is around 45 miles from there to the Honda Center.

I'm assuming it's only a rule for the 1st round (or I guess technically now the 2nd and 3rd) since the sweet 16 is a predetermined location based on the regional bracket you're in. I can't explain the UCLA thing or when the rules may or may not have changed... all I know is Jeter ruled out the possibility of playing in Milwaukee today on the radio.
