I was asked last night what this loss means.
In short, it means that in terms of local interest the Badgers continue banging with the Van Buren Boys and we return to Peterman's place to clip coupons and search for plant food.
Other than that, it doesn't really mean all that much.
In regards to Jay-O, he didn't so much take the night off as much as he was given it off. Wisconsin is a real bad matchup for a 5-foot-8, 160-pound guard.
And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that Kyle Kelm is the one Panther who looked at home on a Big Ten court last night. Great job, Kyle! Glad to have you back.

how embarrassing the game was. furthermore, does anyone know what the renewed contract for next year is? 2 for 1 or another 4 for 2....

Well, unless we get a more respectable 2-1 home scheduling against them, the game is really tilted towards bucky. Just look at GB this year against the boys from Madison, they should've beat them. i think playing up in brown co. had alot to do with that. The big five play in philly.. Villanova, st. joes, la salle, U of Penn and temple. They all play in one place, the palestra. Why can't we do this...oh yeah...to many egos in the way.

It would be great to have a in-state tournament so to speak that rotates between the BC/Kohl/Resch and Cell.
MU v. WIS MU v. GB WIS v. GB MIL v. MU WIS v. MIL
Only issue is the fact that we couldn't play ubgb at that event.

Big Five doesn't play everything at the Palestra.

Last night was an embarrassment. I'm not blaming it on anyone, I'm just sick of losing to those bastards. When we play them at The Cell again, I'll be there, but I'm done with the Kohl Center. Being embarrassed two years in a row is enough for me.

how embarrassing the game was. furthermore, does anyone know what the renewed contract for next year is? 2 for 1 or another 4 for 2.... It was a 7 for 2 back when Bo Ryan became the Uw-madison coach, and is now a 3 for 1 if I recall correctly (our second 3 for 1 with them since the 7 for 2 ended). Completely embarrassing for our AD to sign such a terrible contract, over and over again. Our Athletic Department and team might say we are a mid-major, but the fact that we keep agreeing to such a clearly low-major contract says otherwise.

So, now we are complaining about a 3 for 1 matchup. Since, we have a 9-3 record board members can't want Jeter fired, so they have to find something to complain about. When Mark Murphy was the AD at NU, and Novak was the coach at NIU. Novak proposed a 3 for 1 deal. I asked Murphy about that, and he replied that NU would have the most to lose. Maybe that's why they don't play. I am glad that we have a chance to play the Badgers. Board members are complaining about our weak schedule, and then complain when we get beat by a big boy. GIVE ME A BREAK!!

No high-profile high-major team would ever give themselves multiple, closely-spaced opportunities to lose to a lesser opponent on the road where they can't make any money off the game.
Furthermore, I honestly can't believe anyone is complaining that we lost, on the road, to the #4 team in the entire country. As if anything else was going to happen. Get some perspective.
Kyle Kelm, by the way, is shooting 61.5% from the floor on the season and 38.5% from 3. I'd say it's a good bet to give him the ball more.

Who's complaining that we lost? I was simply dissappointed that we weren't even competitive from the tip, as we have seen an inordinate number of times in this series the last 9 years. It sounds like others feel the same way. Perhaps you need some perspective on the fact that there is a difference. As for the lopsided contract, Loveyouso, I've been complaining about that since before you knew this board existed. So no, sorry, you're not getting a break. And for the record, just like I said with Marquette, I would MUCH rather not play, then play a series that "lets" us have a home game every 4 years if we're lucky. Those terms are a large part of why we are winless in the last 20-some games vs the Vadgers (and why we have never beaten Marquette)!

I'm not disappointed in a road loss to the No. 4 team in the nation, but in the performance of everyone on the team not named Kyle Kelm ... and perhaps Austin Arians, who somehow needs to get more shots. I give it about a C.
At the moment, I'm not sure anyone can beat the Badgers at the Kohl Center. In fact, have the Badgers lost 20 home games during the entire Bo Ryan regime?
Like SRT, I really don't feel that this series has to be continued under the current terms. Can't get better terms, you say. Then don't continue to renew the contract. Why not play more teams like UNI in a home-and-home instead?
In the meantime, I'd suggest that we all turn our attention to the rest of the season. This team is 8-3 against D-1 teams with several more chances to build a CIT or CBI resume and -- much more importantly -- to get better.

Not sure if this will be well received but I think I know: end the damn series with UW! Despite the Klotsche Center game in 12/27/01 (UW 81- MKE 79) and that great game at the Kohl 12/15/05 (UW 74- MKE 68),we haven't even been close. No shame, UW is in a different stratosphere when it comes to recruits, competition played, etc...
I just don't see any value in playing UW anymore other than it is a close game and mitigates travel expenses for the program.

I've been saying "end it" for a few years. 3-1 or 7-2 deal. What's the difference?

I hate to be a stickler, but the 2011 game at The Cell(UW 60-MKE 54) was a damn good game too. I don't necessarily disagree with ending the series though.

I agree, I think we should keep this series going even if it is 3 for 1. I was at the game Wednesday night just behind the Panther bench, and except for Kelm and McWorther everyone was running around like this was their first game ever on the big stage. If you look at all the other games we played, or will play, nothing compares to going to Wisconsin. Our team needs that experience, and hopefully it will help when playing other big games.
