Hard to beat ANYBODY who's 9-12 on 3s. Badgers shooting like a top-5 team right now. Not much you can do...

Meanwhile Kelm and Tiby making good, high-major defensive players look bad. we're one guard away from being competitive, and Jordan took today off.

Panthers winning the second half, aided in large part by Bucky being 0-fer from 3. That's what happens.

Good defensive second half, too many turnovers. UW made one 3-pointer in the second and it came from a backup. They'll have games against good opponents where they wish they shot the ball as well as they did in the first half today.

Chronic problem with this team is still ball control. Other teams know that the best way to slow/stop this team is force turnovers.
Last two years at least have shown this to be the case. Just can't keep being careless with the ball.

Not a great team showing tonight. Yuck! That said, we have two potential wins before heading into the conference season. I think we can go undefeated heading into a tough match up against UWGB.

Last years game was closer. I thought we would see a better showing tonight.

They were competitive in the second half once Wisconsin cooled off from downtown, and Kelm was unstoppable. A lot of their turnovers were terrible passes (Wisconsin got credited with something like 14 steals) from either trying to do too much or, far more often, completely screwing up the high-low game, which I feel was a focused strategy going into the game that backfired. Given how awful the guards were as a whole I want to see more of Mitch Roehlke, who played well against UW backups who would function as quality mid-major players. And Wichmann had some nice minutes too; if we thought it was a good idea to lift the redshirt we might as well play him more.

Perhaps most notably, Evan Richard was the last player off the bench. What a wash he turned out to be.

Well, at least our RPI (and I'm sure other metrics) improved 16 spots to 102nd the the country. Not at all what I traveled to Madison to see though. :/
