Question to admin. Why can't we paste online stories? I'm trying to save people there 20 per month on Jsonline.

I'm not the admin, but I'd say that if the company decides to make their work paid, I wouldn't trample it. The JS doesn't need to lose more writers because the company is losing money due to people undercutting their rules. |

By copying and pasting entire stories, you're basically stealing ... taking away clicks to their website where advertisers pay to be and subscribers who pay to have access to content with no restrictions. Granted it's not grand theft auto, but it's still a version of stealing. Also, when the handful of Panthers fans who want coverage in the JS aren't going to the JS to get the stories and are instead reading them on here, what message does that send to the JS brass when there are few visits to UWM stories? It tells them no one is interested in reading about UWM ... and future coverage could reflect that. |

Posting content is copyright infringement and boards can get in trouble for that. I believe there is a fair use exception where you can post 50 words or less with a citation, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
Edit: I see an admin got to it first.

Fair enough! I was trying to save people the 20 free hits each month. It's funny when you think your doing good for others, you are hurting others on the other side.

I think JS is losing writers for another reason, but we go there!  |

My expectations are still modest (at best) for this team. I've been burned in the past by being too optimistic. With that in mind, I would be very happy with a solid win tonight. I'm not expecting our team, who was picked last in the Horizon and is sporting many new faces, to blow Loyola out of the gym. I'd just really like to come away with a convincing road win to open the season. Lets come away 1-0 and move on to Davidson.
