Most knew this was coming, glad it's official! The five-year contract begins this season and runs through the 2017-18 campaign

Even though I knew it was coming, sure is nice to see it made official. Hopefully my season ticket group will come back to the fold.

Don Walker now has it up on JSOnline. Let's hope this news gets the buzz on 620 WTMJ and 1130 WISN, just like last years news moving to the KC.
Under the terms of the deal, the rental fee will be $14,000 a game, which is estimated to be 17% less than the previous agreement. The rent increases 3% a year. The new facility fee is $1.50 per ticket. The fee in the last agreement ranged from $2 to $3.

I really think anyone who kept their season tickets last year should have first dibs on seats this year. We paid and put up with KC.
But this is great news, indeed.

Best news for this program in the last 15 months. Sorry students, you can take the free 10 minute bus ride and ticket again.

For those with insight into the athletic department, what exactly did Geiger accomplish during his tenure as AD? Outside of the KC debacle. I know he wasn't there long (thankfully) and there was no realistic sense he could make a significant impact on the necessary improvements we need but what did he contribute while in charge?

This quote struck me.. "The Wisconsin Center District was very much on-board with considering ways to assist us in making our games more accessible to all. Lower ticket fees and increased promotional opportunities will have a tangible positive impact for us."

Okay, given that we will sell profoundly fewer than $300,000 worth of tickets given last year's performance and the absence of any big-ticket teams on our home schedule (Butler, Marquette, Wisconsin), how is this a better deal financially than playing at the Klotsche Center? Or that theoretical on-campus arena that everyone was so psyched about once upon a time and that the athletic department had set up a fund and increased student fees to pay for? And what's that money going to be used for now?
The numbers will likely resemble 2011, before we got completely ripped off by the Theater District, when including the Horizon League Tournament we paid $267,000 to rent the US Cellular Arena in toto and only made $249,000 in ticket sales. And it's fair to say that ticket revenue could drop off hard from even that year, which was in a 3-year stretch of 19+ win seasons with two 20-win seasons and an NIT appearance. And we still won't be making any money from concessions.
In 2011-2012 we only pulled three home games with more than 2500 people (one of them was Butler). The US Cellular arena seats, what, 11000?

That was as good of a deal as they could get? I mean its an improvement but not as much as i would have hoped.
