If I remember correctly, this isn't uncharted waters for UWM either. I thought one other UWM player spent time in the NFL. Anyone remember?

Since I'm not a die hard Packer fan, if Harris is playing in the NFL next season, the team Harris plays for team automatically becomes my favorite NFL team.

If his 40 time really is 4.45, why even bother with tight end?

Wow this is awesome.
I know who I want on my dynasty fantasy team if he makes a team!

Great find Hack. Every time I saw him play in person this year I commented on how he would look great in a Packer uniform. I was thinking LB but TE makes the most sense. I'd love to see it.
There are so many agile big guys who play college hoops who have zero chance of playing pro basketball somewhere that I'm surprised more don't try to play football.
Good luck to Demetrius! Jeter could finally have his first Panther in the pros in the US.

John Gilmore spent a year at UWM before transferring to Tennessee State and finishing up his basketball career. He then tried out for the Packers and nearly made the team before being cut in the last round of training camp cuts one year. Mike Reinfeldt, former Tennessee Titans GM, played for the Panthers football team in the early 70s before it was cut. Was then drafted by the Houston Oilers and became a pro-bowler. The Panthers also had another player drafted a year or two after the program was cut but never played in the NFL.

I notice he didn't credit Ryan Ellerbusch and BCB for the story. We had the story a day before them. Ryan did great work.

Big John (6-7, 235) was one-fifth of the MCC's top recruiting class for 1996-97, according to Dick Vitale's College Basketball Yearbook.
By the summer of '97, he was the only one remaining on campus ... and then he left.

Yesterday, I stumbled across that media guide while looking for something else.
Best part of the cover?

Not sure if this counts in the same vain, but John Scardina who worked in the Klotsche Center weight room and general maintenance played for the Vikings during the strike season as an offensive lineman. He played football for the old Racine Raiders. He was 6'4 or 6'5 and built like a s*** brickhouse. Played intramural basketball with him and he and I played in the backcourt, purely for the fact that seeing this lineman bring the ball up the court put fear into anyone we played. ;D
