I'm taking a wait and see approach. I know a lot of people are frustrated with this hire, not because we don't think Amanda is a qualified candidate, but because a lot of people thought hiring Plinske was a no-brainer. That coupled with the fact that we have seen bad decision after bad decision derail the momentum of our cherished basketball program, brings out the skepticism.
She is our AD, nothing we can do about that but rally behind her and hope that she will share our passion for basketball. I will attend games next year and be a fan, even if I have to see Jeter coaching at the KC again, which will make me want to claw my eyes out.
I hope everyone at this juncture supports Amanda, because she deserves our support, at least at this juncture. Should I run into her myself, I will give her very encouraging words. I felt (without knowing much) that she was the 2nd best fit next to Paul, and she deserves the opportunity to prove that she was first all along.

Totally agree... despite all my frustrations with everything that has gone on I am not pre-judging and definitely support her. It is the overall mission and direction that UWM Chancellor gives her that I am concerned about more than necesarrily her abilities. Hope they are being straight with her and us but see my prior post on where I think this may all be heading.

I have no idea how to evaluate this hire at the moment.
I do find it interesting that Plinske was passed over, twice --- this time with Geiger at the helm.
By this time next year I want to see a visionary and implementable plan in place for long-term growth of all athletic programs. I'd also like to see a strong fundraising effort underway. It's unrealistic to expect a coaching change for men's bball.
