Heard through the grapevine that Jeter is going nowhere. He's got some time to turn program around but needs the support of alumni and students as well as the new AD. His recruiting class is bailing him out. There's thought that by the time JJ and Austin are seniors the team will be ranked. At which time the junior class will be experienced and will continue national prestige. Jeter will be offered UW job as Ryan retires but turns it down. The Klotche Center construction will be under way. The court will be turned sideways, there'll be sky boxes, additional restrooms, concessions, and beer. Season ticket holder and boosters will be provided with a lounge area for pre game food and drinks. The lounge will be available to watch away games and other athletic events. There's miles and miles of HOPE. THESE pretzels are making me THIRSTY! How about some kool aid?

"Getting a team to play hard and score after timeouts once in a while don't take no more sense than putting on a pair of pants. My question to you is: who's putting your pants on?"

Recognize a little sarcasm? My point is that Jeter is probably not leaving. But things can turn around quickly. I really believe JJ and Austin are talents. If they hit the weights and work hard two pieces of the puzzle are already here. Next years team will be better with McWhorter at point leaving Aarons to launch threes. I think Tagarelli and Whichman will add energy off the bench. I may be wrong but it's UWMs reality. As dismal as this season is I see improvement next year. Jeter is not a great coach but he's a good coach, despite all that I read.

I haven't seen it to date.

Why not just wait until the new director is hired? I am sure he or she will have goals for the department. Then do everything possible to support those goals.

Jeter is not a great coach but he's a good coach, despite all that I read. He's 107-117 since his first season, 98-117 against Division 1 teams ... despite being the highest-paid coach in the league. Including this year. Taking this year out, he's 99-84 in that time frame, and 77-56 from 08/09 thru 11/12. This year was a roster horror; we can make judgments about Jeter's coaching after next year.

Yes, surely no judgments can be made about the guy ultimately responsible for constructing the roster. Indeed, as The Man once sang, this was all merely a Twist of Fate.

And if we take Jeter's record from Jan 1st 2011 through the rest of the season he is 13-6 and 2-1 vs Butler. We also had some very promising underclassmen back then that had me tickled pink thinking about the future.
This years roster is very talented, and is only hampered (as far as mid-majors go) by not having a true point guard, which could be blamed on Jeter to some extent.
