Ha! Either way I'm right. ;D
... or either way I'm wrong.

To be fair, if you look hard enough there should be a brief "Just Say No To Jeter" campaign when he was first rumored for the job. ;D Very true. And then there's this: As much as I hate being considered the "little brother" to Madison, I think Jeter will take our school to new heights. His recruitment is going to be so valuable for the 2006 roster. IN JETER WE TRUST! ;D Later, UWMfreak To be fair, we could cherry pick everyone's posts and find something that makes us go "Huh." Huh?

Looking back, I think I was basing the days off my discussions, because I had three of them with Pollard.

If I remember correctly (and I do), there were reports on the Iowa fan boards that Jeter was the choice and an announcement would be the next day.
I remember discussions here where people were wringing their hands over it. Then the next morning it was announced that Jeter had agreed to stay with a new contract.

Bottom line: This program is solid, intact and nowhere near sliding back to mediocrity. Simply connect the dots of all the heralded prospects that are redshirting, have signed letters of intent and have reportedly committed. I'm speechless. I have no speech. Man, mediocrity looks pretty darned good today from where I'm sitting. This is all quite breathtaking.

I guess if it's on the internet, it must be true, right? Only if it supports my position.

If we suspend the basketball program for two years do we still have to pay him. (Kidding (not really kidding))

Or maybe there is language saying we have an out if we have a postseason ban. Then give ourselves a self-imposed ban. Pardon my wishful thinking out loud.

If we were an athletic organization separate from the university we'd have a chance...

Heard through the grapevine that Jeter is going nowhere. He's got some time to turn program around but needs the support of alumni and students as well as the new AD. His recruiting class is bailing him out. There's thought that by the time JJ and Austin are seniors the team will be ranked. At which time the junior class will be experienced and will continue national prestige. Jeter will be offered UW job as Ryan retires but turns it down. The Klotche Center construction will be under way. The court will be turned sideways, there'll be sky boxes, additional restrooms, concessions, and beer. Season ticket holder and boosters will be provided with a lounge area for pre game food and drinks. The lounge will be available to watch away games and other athletic events. There's miles and miles of HOPE.
